I really enjoyed my stay at Kenyaways. It's a very homely, rustic old house set on beautiful Diani beach. The rooms are very attractive and scrupulously clean and the staff are delightful. We really enjoyed eating at the Salty Squid, so much so that my friend and I ate every meal here throughout our four night stay. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.


Rustic beach retreat

We stayed here for 6 nights on our honeymoon and it was an absolute delight. Our bedroom opened onto the beach, what more could you want (I didn't see any other hotels on Diani with this). Also the best body scrub and full body massage I've ever had! Amazing and helpful staff with heaps of local knowledge and there is a beautiful boutique on site selling local products and a fab restaurant next door - can't recommend enough.

Best place in Diani

The rooms and feel of the place was perfect - we stayed in ‚Rebel‘ with a lovely balcony. 
Emmanuel on the desk and all staff were friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time in Salty Squid restaurant downstairs and again the staff were so nice and friendly. We had to leave very early in the morning and they kindly packed us up a breakfast the night before which was much appreciated. 
Worth noting that we tried to get kitesurfing lessons from the place within Kenyaways and they were fully booked for the next few days so could be good to book ahead if it is something you want to do.

We were sad to leave Kenyaways after just 3 nights there. A really excellent stay.

we had a great stay at a KenyaWays - been wanting to come there for years and when we finally did -it was a nice as we had imagined. I have lived and worked in Kenya/the region for the past decade and been to the coast many times - this is definitely a cool and relaxed place to stay. The restaurant, Salty Squid, which is hosted by there is also nice - great breakfasts included in the room price. if you are looking for a calm chilled place - this is it. management communicated well in advance on the construction next door which seems to be over soon and also did not bother us much anyway. it should
define not keep you from
going as far as we are concerned. the people working at the restaurant and the accommodation were all super nice and helpful.

I can't wait to go back!

We were very pleased with the service, the room, and the restaurant. Sitting on the terrace with the ocean breeze while reading was almost the best part of our time in Kenya. The beach is soft, white sand and the Indian Ocean is beyond compare.

Very nice boutique beach hotel

Each room has it’s own charm and views of the ocean.  They have an exceptional restaurant on the premises, which the guests from other close properties use, as their’s aren’t the same quality.

The Indian Ocean charm of this property is what makes it a hidden jewel.  The pool is secluded on an upper terrace, and massages are very reasonable and a must.

One of the best parts of this property is their general manager, Stephen.  He is also the front desk manager, concierge, and exceptional customer service all rolled into one.  He is also respected by all of the staff.  He’ll see to all of your needs, including private safaris to Tsavo East & West, and Amboseli.

Best price with the best value right on the beach!

From the moment we arrived, Kenyaways welcomed us and made us feel at home. The staff were efficient and friendly, rooms comfortable and the food at The Salty Squid was delicious. There was always plenty for the whole family to do and the beach was one of the best Ive been to in East Africa.

Family getaway

I did leave a review in the notebook from the cult hut. But to spread the word some more it is a beautiful place to be, employers are super kind and think along with all your questions. You can just walk on the beach and do your thing. Room service was twice a day, keeps it nice and tidy in your room! And the restaurant has a broad and good menu :) my go to for lunch were the falafel and pulled pork wraps! Evening I tried the meat/vegetarian menu’s, 9/10 with the service included.  

Just what I needed.

I love Kenyaways! I'm resident in Kenya and it has been quite a year last year.  So, every single time I travel to Diani and I look for a place where to regenerate... I think about Kenyaways. 
The location, the style of the rooms (I now get used to be in Fuel on the beach), the little space for the sunbeds, the sunsets, and now even the great restaurant... it makes my stay wonderful and I can't wait to come back!

Relaxation & Joy

I stayed for five nights in February at Kenyaways, in room Torch, and really loved it. Perfect location on an idyllic part of the beach, sea swims throughout the day, and watching the kitesurfers all afternoon. My room was simple but really well maintained and clean, there were two fans which were a godsend on the hot nights, the bathroom was huge. The staff at the property were all delightfully friendly, the pool was really refreshing and there are plenty of loungers and chairs at the beachfront where you can watch the world go by. The Salty Squid restaurant on site is superb - hands down my favourite spot to eat in Diani for lunch or dinner, and the breakfasts that were included were delicious, too. I would definitely return again!
