35 reviewsWhat a beautiful place this is! A traditional, old, Japanese inn that is taken care of by Naoki-San, the grandchild of the owner, and his family. We arrived shortly before check in time and as it was pouring rain outside, we stayed in the lovely book store/reading room and had some tea. Especially worth mentioning, aside the great hospitality and local tips of the family - the free bikes which allowed us to cycle around the lake (40-60 min. long) and the many "touches" that make this place feel like home. A coffee corner and a tea corner, a refrigerator you can keep your food in, extra cosmetic amenities in the shared bathroom and everything is so nicely designed. It is evident Naoki and his wife have a great aesthetic sense. If you look carefully, you can find design & art pieces all over. A special treat is the bonsai room - Naoki's fantastic collection (including a 120 years old Bonsai) is presented in a special lounge where you can enjoy your drinks and adore the plants. Thank you Naoki & family for a memorable stay!
