Its around 500 m. walking from the center bus and train station which I have a big 15 kgs. luggage with me and I think its not any problem. The way is flat and the hotel is easy to find. (you can just only put on google map and walk following the way. The hotel has onsen which charge you only 150 yen extra. They having a kitchen and table with microwave and hot water for all guests for free. Also free coffee and water to drink. 

I have 3 persons so the the room type is Ryokan or Japanese style which I like. The mat and pillow and blanket everything is warm. The bathroom is clean and they also have a sink outside the bathroom so 3 person is not a problem at all. (comfortable as if someone using the bathroom another person can also use the sink outside. The bathroom also have bath tub. On each floor there is an ice machine and hair dryer is inside the room and also a kettle.

So I would says this is perfect. 

The only complains maybe the room is small but not that small just think that need a little more space to put 3 big luggage but not a big deal. 

From hotel you can walk to many restaurant and also walk to the 2 morning markets and also the old town.

Near TAKAYAMA bus and train center station

It's quite an old hotel, so not enough sockets for both charging devices, using laptop and using hair dryer at the same time.  Fridge didn't work, only an old dirty metallic mug with a heating device,so you can't boil water (the heating mug set was like an antique, a kind of interesting ).  Room temperature seems to be centrally controlled by the hotel and it was too warm for us, we had to open the window for some cool air.  
But the room is clean with adequate amenities.  And you can use the microwave oven, water boiler in the common room at G/F.  You can also enjoy the coffee from the coffee machine for free there.  It was nice to gather with friends at the common and heat the foods bought from the Family Mart after come out from onsen.
And nice, friendly reception at front desk.

Not bad at this relatively low price

Everything was fairly clean. The hotel is convenient and easy to find. The staff were friendly and did there best in English, although I am able to use some Japanese so zi didn’t really test them too hard. The only drawback for me was the age of the building and furnishings.

Great value for money!

I found the hotel to be well located to explore Takayama on foot & to access the train station & bus depot. My bed was 
comfortable, the room made up daily & the shower pressure & hot water excellent. The staff were friendly & helpful. As is common in Japan the bathroom was small though functionally adequate but our towels rather thin. The shower over the small but deep bath could be unsafe for elderly or disabled clients. One had to be careful with the lifts doors as they tendered to shut very quickly & stairs lacked a hand rail. 

Good Location

Very quiet hotel so you can sleep easilly. It is outdated and it smells in the corridor that people smoke cigarets in the rooms. A bit disgusting. You can choose non smoking room and be fine. Friendly staff. Speak very little English but are willing to help you out with maps and translated cards. Has a small warm water spring (onsen) very very basic but the water was fine. Very good location. It is primarly used as a business hotel so no hossel. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. Fine for the budget travellar etc.
