The Westin Sendai

This was my third stay, and I had three nights in a moderate king room. I'd requested a view in the same direction as my previous stays and the hotel obliged. It's the most wonderful view, you can see the sea in the far distance, the city, river, roads and mountains (two illuminated towers on the mountains adding to the fantastic night scenes). The room was very spacious with a comfortable king-sized bed (4 pillows), decent-sized table with a chair on wheels, plus an easy chair, lots of storage and hanging space. A beautiful gold ceramic artwork on a stand inside the entrance. A tv, fridge (and mini bar), coffee capsule machine (yes!!!), recycling bins (thumbs up, often not the case), coasters (appreciated) and do not disturb/clean room included in the bedhead buttons. The bathroom was also spacious with lots of bench space, a generous supply of toiletries, and a lovely thick dressing gown. Staff were polite and professional. Breakfasts were good - had to sit and wait to go into the restaurant on a couple of mornings but it was efficiently handled. Room service dinners were also good. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the JR Station and many of the city's sights are within a walkable distance. Overall this is a great place to stay and I'm looking forward to next time!
