Onsen water at Kaneki is definitely one of the best in the area. No recycling and no chlorine sterilization, 100% real hot spring water which is very rare in Japan nowadays and after taking the first bath there, I realised the surface of my skin got smoother. The inn is owned by a young couple and they host their guests very friendly. The architecture is also very interesting: an authentic wooden traditional Japanese house with a nicely renovated living room where guests can have local sake after having a bath. I visited there with my friends in autumn last year and had a great time!
