15 reviewsThis is a great hotel from which to access the Akakura ski resort. Truly ski in/ski out. Arriving back at the hotel on the run past the Bear cafe (highly recommended also) my skis literally came to rest against the front step. Also just a short 100m walk to the ski hire shops (Myoko Sports very good) and main Street of restaurants and convenience stores. Vegan breakfast highlights were always the home made juice and freshly baked bread. Pick up some bananas from the shop to add to your porridge maybe and some milk for the otherwise black coffee. I would also strongly recommend a taxi over to the Suginohara ski field for a day. Really long runs there serviced by an excellent gondola and bubble lift to the top. There is a bus but it got pretty crowded on the 3:30 home - great business for the bus company at 1,000 yen a pop. Liam and Lewis were great hosts, organising restaurant bookings for our party of 16 and also taxis. The in house onsens (single person unless it’s someone you’re really friendly with!) also worthy of a mention.
