Hotel Green Plaza Hamanako

I gave this hotel with Very Good rating because Good experienced outweighed my Bad experience. First with the Good experience: This was a water front propert with very good view of the lake from our guest room and the restaurant. Nice quiet location. The guest room was spacious. There was nice "Ofuro" public bath on the lobby floor with view of the lake. Dinner buffet was very good with many dishes. I expected much less for the price. Breakfast buffet was very good with both Japanese and western dishes. Both buffet included soft drinks and coffee. Ample parking. Now the Bad. The hotel is tired. The room smells like mold. The bathroom is small. Toilet space is limited for a big person like myself. There was only one elevator for a 7 story building. Expect to wait and be patient for crowded elevator. I was experiencing nice relaxing moment in the Ofuro when several tourists speaking Chinese came in. They were very loud. They did not wash before entering the bath, kid was jumping into the bath repeatedly, one was filming with a cellphone, and after they got out of Ofuro they showered and left the removable shower handle on the floor. There were information regarding manners of Ofuro in Japan posted iJapanese, Korean, Chinese, and English posted in the guest room and the entrance of bath house.
