Our rooms were located on a non-smoking floor but next is next to a room for smokers. My room smell of stale smoke and corridor outside our rooms smell mushy.

The buffet is the grand hotel quality and that surprising me for an onsen hotel.The onsen bath is my most expecting in this hotel, but so disappointing that half of bath area (outdoor pool) is closed due to construction work.And it is so late to inform me the maintenance of outdoor onsen, making me impossible to have enough time to change to other hotel.

Buffet is the best and the onsen is disappointing

The hotel is relatively old and the cleanliness is average, but the hot spring is large enough.

The private onsen bath is full of mould, feel uncomfortable to get inside.

The buffet dinner and breakfast were very good. The carpark was quite full and you may need to park very far away from hotel main entrance. They are still using traditional cylinder lock with key which made people feeling not safe.

Pleasant stay overall. Buffet dinner and breakfast food is average, room is very dated. Onsen is nice, especially the private onsen and bedrock bath (with very reasonable fee).

The hotel is situated in a beautiful place in a quiet village. It is large, with several large dining rooms and many private rooms. There are several outdoor and indoor baths, saunas, a mud bath room and large locker rooms for changing. They alternate sides for men and women daily, and both are similar. The hotel is clean, but showing its age, particularly in the bathrooms in the rooms. Our Japanese style room was large, with a beautiful view. The Western style rooms looked to be the slightly smaller. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and both were adequate - no complaints, but nothing particularly memorable either. In general the staff were pleasant, but not as attentive as other places we have stayed in Japan. For the price, this is a reasonably good option, but I would probably look to see what smaller hotels are available next time.

Nice hotel.  Service has the room to improve.

I’ve been here twice because of the music festival. The nature around it’s incredibly beautiful and wild. The hotel is quite ok. Nothing fancy or modern, but the view over the nature it’s stunning. The private onsen was no clean, and I passed the time trying to avoid spiders and other little guests. 
Of you search for the typical hotel amenities, this is not the place for you.

Important to mention that the staff it’s not able to handle a conversation in English.
