Sublime. Beautiful property, nestled in hills, lovingly maintained. Superb cuisine, both Japanese and French, both breakfast and dinner. Outdoor onsen is excellent (indoor public onsen was closed but didn't matter). Having a private bath in our villa was a wonderful way to start and finish the day. Super easy access from Tokyo, 2 hrs if you combine Shinkansen with a local train from Atami to Izu Kogen. The hotel provides a free shuttle from the station and back. Only 5 mins. Nearby Mount Omuro is an excellent spot to enjoy sweeping views of the Izu peninsula, sparkling blue sea and if you're lucky like we were a stunning view of Mount Fuji. Just hop on the ski lift and walk the rim of the perfect crater. Recommend highly!
