Ishigaki

This was a great stay, japanese style room and the staff was very friendly. Great service! Staff will go out of their way to take care of your needs.  I highly recommend staying here if you are in Ishigaki.  

Exceptional Service 

The people at pension Katsu are superb. It's a small place run by the owner and his family, and they are the greatest people. 

Price wise you couldn't get better either, fees include breakfast and dinner - if you can eat Japanese food - and it is big help, as restaurants can be pricey in Ishigaki. 

They also offer different kinds of marine activities, so it's very convenient. The location is also very good.

The not so good part are the rooms. I don't know if all rooms are the same, but mine smelled like mold - and it wasn't just a faint smell, it was quite strong, and after leaving the hotel (I stayed there for 2 nights), I noticed that my luggage and all the things I had inside my suitcase smelled just as bad. It interfered with my sleep too, couldn't sleep very well.

So if you think that could be a problem for you, look elsewhere. 

I loved the people there but I wouldn't stay again because of the condition of the room.

Great staff

Pension Katsu is a house on the road about 7 min from city center. The staff is very very helpfull, eventhoug they didnt speak any english or spanish, they always did their best to help us.
Price includes breakfast and dinner. Is very basic japanese food, very well served and tasty. Dont expect eggs with bacon at breakfast, they do tipical Ishigaki breakfast (rice, sashimi, miso, etc) wich is a good cultural experience.
They also plan trips to other beaches on the island.
We booked 3 dives with them! It was good! They took us to manta point where we saw huge mantas! BEAUTIFULL !
They were always very helpfull with big smile! 

Nice house with nice and hepfull staff

At first sight at arrival we were really rethinking if we had made the right choice of accommodation. We sure had! It is a 2* guesthouse and you get more than you can expect at this price. Rooms are fine in size if you don't expect to spend time there apart from sleeping. They are clean! The staff is really friendly and helpful and with some English speaking staff as well. The food is really tasty and you get to choose from several different meals/sets every day. Would definitely recommend it. Especially in this island where you go for beaching and diving. 

Value for money!

Booked through Agoda and did not know the price included dinner. Dinner was good with raw fish (toro). I was not offered dinner choices but it seems there are western, Japanese and noodles. The noodles absolutely looks delicious. The staffs is very polite. There is free car park and free wifi is available in reception. The hotel is 5 mins drive from city center and a few restaurants are within walking distance.
