I would rate this place as excellent as I am already aware that it is a very basic lodging facility. It is cheap and you get what you pay for. 

The place is very clean, everything was in order and everything you need is there. If you are looking for service and class, then this hotel is not for you.

The rooms are very spacious. There is a living room, dining room, bedroom and a small toilet that has a short but deep tub (for sitting). You have to make your own bed.

Really easy to find within a few minutes walking off the Cable Car. Despite arriving an hour earlier than the allowable checkin time, we were greeted warmly by a gentleman with limited english. He provided us with a map of the local area, highlighting the convenience stores, along with their operating hours, a gift of Origami booklets and a smile. The e-room was as depicted in the websites' pictures - a decent equipped kitchen, bathroom, a tatami bedroom (all mattresses and linens in the closet) and a separate living room. The best part was having a washing machine which allowed us to replenish our limited wardrobe - the soap was even provided. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

The best part: The host/manager was very accommodating and friendly despite the language barrier. The office is open only up to 8PM for check-in and they were willing to keep our room door unlocked so we could get in after 8PM from our long journey to Hakone and allow us to officially check-in the next morning. Furthermore, during our check-out day, there was a shortage of taxis that could take us to the Gora Station with all our luggage. The host decided to bring us to the station himself so we could catch our train. 

Wifi was excellent. 

The unit was clean, towels and beddings provided (sleep on floor, Japanese style). The bathroom was very compact, in true Japanese fashion, but we loved the Toto toilet and bidet!

The instructions could do with much better translation in to English. The appliances - washing machine, stove, heating/aircon and bathroom controls - are all in Japanese. It's a good thing Google Translate's Photo input works! 

We couldn't fully comprehend how to operate the heater in the living/dining - there were warnings on potential gas hazard, so we decided to leave it untouched and relied on the heating units in the bedrooms which were easier to operate. 

Perhaps provide coffeemaker/brewer option?

Gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpful, even though we had a language barrier.

Room was very spacious had a kitchen/dinning room, lounge room ,  bathroom and a washing machine. 

Only thing i would recommend is either get the cable car to 1st stop or taxi from station, we walked from station and the hill was a struggle with luggage.

Great little place!

Friendly, homey, comfy, value for money in Gora

Hidden little gem

Pros - Clean; good value for Gora; good location (except for some steep hills); convenience of own laundry & (limited) kitchen facilities. Cons - Small living/sleeping area; Japanese style furnishing, ie floor chairs, no table / chairs, thin sleeping mats made for an uncomfortable stay and sleeping arrangements.

Good value but limitations

So the kettle seems to take 20 minutes to warm water but that doesn't matter because even though we have 4 people in our room the provisions given to us for 4 people for tea and coffee were gone within an hour.  First night. 
Lucky for the vending machine outside. 

Walls are so thin I can hear next door ejecting the curry from the night before.  

Big kitchen,  maybe if you bring your own food you can make use of it. 

Very friendly staff,  nice.

Can't have a shower,  hot waters on but I get about 15 second of hot from the tap before it goes cold. 

Watch the doorways,  they are neck height for me,  your head will hurt. 

The worst part,  the bed.  Every two hours hours you have to roll to the other side and let the sore side rest.  I found myself googling nearby hotels with 24 hour check in about 1am. 
I have another night payed in this hotel and I am not staying here!
