Wow. That’s all I can say!!! This place is so gorgeous. It was a pleasure staying here. We had 3 nights but could’ve stayed more, although it’s enough to see Hakone, but if you want a few extra days to relax, this is the place.

When you arrive you get to choose traditional Japanese wear from a range of designs. 

The food is amazing, make sure you choose the dinner option! Lots of seafood, sashimi, hot pot, beef, pork and chicken mains. 

The rooms are comfortable and quite large by Japanese standards. Also, this hotel was hundreds of dollars cheaper than other ryokans offering a meal plan in Hakone (that we saw). 

The onsen is relaxing and quite large. There’s an indoor one (large) and a small outdoor one as well. If you want you can also hire a private onsen, free of charge, if you want to bathe with your partner or if you want to shower in private. 

The staff are definitely a highlight here too. They’re so friendly and kind, and happy to help with any requests. 

As a bonus, there are free massage chairs for guests. 

Seriously, this place nails it. Make sure you stay here when you visit Hakone. 

Final tip - get the Hakone travel pass, it’s much cheaper to get around with it. This hotel is close to Gora Station. Easy access around Hakone. Take the ropeway to Lake Ashi for views of Mt Fuji on a clear day.

Highly recommend, best ryokan, great location!

Hotel is right opposite to Gora park and it's 7 mins walking from Gora station ( if you have big luggage it may take slightly longer as the last bit is kind of steep) Hotel only has 10 rooms with no elevator but it's fine with us as we prepared for it. Due to traffic from Yokohama , we only got to arrive at 8 pm and the front desk staff was so polite and welcome us with great kindness . We were led to our room which is on top floor and that's where the private bath on. There's a separate public bath for female / male on ground floor and given the hotel does not accommodate too many guests , it gives you high privacy and relaxation. 

Two free massage chairs for guests which we did not try out . Coffee , green tea and mineral water is also available. 

Would recommend to people who want to stay out of Hakone area but close to the sightseeing hubs. 


Sweet little gem in beautiful Gora

Stayed 2 nights with family.  Loved it.  Here are highlights:

1) Dinner!  Wow, each night had 8 courses in a small restaurant area.  The meal included sushi, hot pot, main meat dish, desert, etc.  I've traveled extensively and found this to be one of the best dinners I've ever had.  Given it was included in cost of room (approx $200/night) I'd say this was an extremely good value.

2) Onsen!  This was our first stay at an Onsen.  This one was great in my opinion.  We stayed during middle of the week and we were alone in the Onsen. They had an indoor and outdoor Onsen.  Men and women have separate facilities. 

3) Service -  the staff were exceptional.  They were very helpful and each morning packed us a breakfast since we were missing breakfast!   These people were top notch!   

4). Room - was good.  We did Japanese style.  Remember you will sit on seats on floor and sleep on futons.  Fun for the experience of it!

Loved it

Hotel is very clean. The room is cosy with lovely balcony/tea area. Staffs are friendly and make you feel with the ease at home. The location is very near to Gora Park west entrance (within 10 mins) walk as well as the station. The meals are nicely served at the restaurant area. Nice view during snow season too. I would love to visit this onsen again.

Cosy and pleasant stay

The hotel staff were friendly even though they could only speak limited English. Service was excellent. Hotel rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The onsen was on the small side but there aren't that many guests to begin hence it didn't matter. In fact I was the only one using the onsen at that time. Definitely worth the money.
