The home stay was lovely overall. 

The house is located around paddy fields with potentially a great view. (we stayed during the Fall so there wasn't much plantation unfortunately) 
The room is traditional style and was very clean and has all the basic amenities you will need; water, tea, fridge, TV, toiletries ect. 
We were also shown to a hot stone treatment spa which was very relaxing after a long drive that day. 
Breakfast was inside Megumi's living room, which was very homey. She served us bread, Furano milk, coffee, cheese cake, Furano melon, Salad and Tomato Soup picked from her own vegetable garden and made by her mother. 
Megumi was very friendly, and spoke to us warmly. She was a lovely host.

Lovey Homestay

This little house is situated right in the middle of paddy fields, outside of Furano town. 

We liked the cleanliness, amenities provided, and Ganbanyoku (岩磐浴）experience.

What we were most impressed was the owner who spoke basic English, was friendly, honest, and generous. Despite booking mentioned of JPY28,000 for 2 adults & 2 children, she gave us discount on children & charged us JPY21,400. The room rate included free Ganbanyoku for adults. We paid extra JPY800/pax for children. 

We went to owner's home for breakfast. The breakfast was really delicious & sumptuous. The menu: soft white bread, local fresh milk, home grown organic salad, tomato with shrimp soup, Furano melon & home made carrot cinnamon cake. When owner offered me coffee I had to reject politely as I was too full! This breakfast could have cost us at least JPY 2000/pax but it came free!

What you get is more than what you see

Megumi was the most charming and pleasant hostess we met on our travels in Hokkaido.
She was friendly, thoughtful and forever smiling. 

The inn is located amongst the paddy and wheat fields in Furano, 10 minutes away from the city center by car. Even with GPS (and entering the inn's phone number into the system), it did not bring us directly to the inn but was close. We made a right turn and then recognised the inn. Megumi is always ready when she has guests arriving to come out to look for them.

The inn itself is made of 2 structures. The white building houses 2 rooms and the purple building opens up a 3rd room during peak summer season. The rooms are small but clean and has a wonderful view of the fields and mountains. Tatami sleeping is provided but Megumi provides the option of double futons for those who are not used to sleeping on the floor. Ensuite bathroom is very small but has everything- vanity basin, toilet, shower and bathtub! Again, spotless.

Hot stone spa experience was interesting and relaxing. 

Breakfast was simple but very complete- bread, soup, salad, coffee, cake and fruits. Fresh and delicious.

Only tip is to include information about your pajama sizes, estimated time of arrival and booking time for the hot stone spa when booking the dates via agoda as I was unable to contact Megumi via email after. She uses booking.com and was sending me emails via booking.com who was then forwarding messages to agoda which then sent emails to me via a no reply email. I called Megumi from Japan when I arrived and everything was fine. 

I would definitely love to return for more of a relaxing trip (rather than a sightseeing one) and spend a few days just admiring the scenery from her inn.
