Shirataki

Shirataki is a fantastic place to stay in Kawaguchiko. Mother and son run the Shirataki and are very sweet and lovely people. They were very generous and hospitable. The son (forgot his name) offered to be our designated driver if we wanted to drink. Given the driving laws in Japan, this was a very considerate offer. He even offered to drive us to some nearby attractions. The room is a Japanese style tatami room with beds on the floor and table. It had a heater, plenty of blankets, pillows, storage and space. The rooms had a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji. Free wifi. The bath and showers are shared. The shower/bath can only be used between 6pm-10pm every day. This is because they clean and set up the bath ready for you to use. Of course, it is a typical traditional Japanese bathroom set up for guests to use showers first before using the bath as a relaxing soak. Shirataki has bikes to use for free which is handy to get around. Only a short walk to the lake. This place is amazing and we higher recommend people to stay here. We would come back!
