The lovely house is well situated tuscany outside Lucca. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. They have a beautiful garden and very friendly dogs and cats. We will certainly come back if we stay again in this area. Thank you Alida and Lucca for the great hospitality!

Great Hospitality

This is a piece of heaven close to Lucca, Pisa and Firenze. You can easily reach these locations and come back in the evening to the tranquil and charming Locanda San GInese. We only stayed for 2 nights, but I cann tell you for sure we fell in love with everything: the warmth of Alida and Luca, the amazing locally made breakfast, the 'chic' rooms, the attention to detail. We travelled with our dog and they treated him like a real guest: biscuits and everything! :) You could find absolutely everything you could need in the room and we were lucky to have a terrace with very beautiful views of the surrounding heels.  Will definetely come back in summer. We are rarely so impressed with an accomodation, but this time we fell in love with Locanda San Ginese!

EXCELLENT

A wonderful three-day visit we wish had lasted longer. Alida's warm greeting and helpful advice on things to do, places to see and where to eat were treasures.

The bright, clean, air conditioned bedroom with an eclectic collection of antiques and old furniture was inviting.  The ensuite bathroom was generous in size and water pressure.

Alida's  breakfast was as big as her warm smile and thoughtful advice. Luca was very friendly and helpful in sharing his experience in restoring the locanda.

All in all, our visit was too brief and we will return.

Our Home in Cappanori

We stayed at this Inn after a recommendation from Family in 2008. As you can tell this review is a bit late but When traveling to Lucca this is the place to stay.

The rooms were beautiful the breakfast was plentiful and the company was incredible.

My special thanks to Luca and Alida for picking us up at the train station and driving us to the Olive Pressers and down town Luca. A "Mini Tour" with limited time. I can only hope to return again.

Luca and Alida Make you feel at home

I have been staying at Locanda San Ginese for 5 years - at least a dozen visits. Alida and Luca make everyone so welcome and it is not an exaggeration to say that you will quickly adopt this delightful B and B as your new italian home. I certainly have. From the moment you enter you will be welcomed with open arms and open hearts. Alida speaks perfect English and makes a wonderful breakfast. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and sport the best showers in Italy. You can make tea or coffee in your room and WiFi is free - and on cable if you need it. This is a very quiet place and so if you need to write or study it is a perfect place for that - but if you want to talk it is a wonderful place for that too. Both Alida and Luca have many interests including art, music, theater, history and the environment. You will quickly become friends and will want to come back - again and again. I have. No matter how arduous your journey may have been to get here when you arrive you will land very gently and sleep soundly and wake to the Tuscan sun and more sunshine from the friendliest of hosts.
