42 reviewsThe Vanvitella is about 5 minutes walk away from the town centre and 2 minutes from the port. We stayed there to investigate Ancona and surrounding towns and couldn't have chosen better. The apartment, which is really just one room plus bathroom, was decently furnished with good cooking facilities. It was a large room and the bed was good and the bathroom was very good. There was little in the way of character but as a place to call home for a week it had all we needed. The road up to the Cathedral and the Archeological Museum ran close by and both are very much worth seeing. The hike to the Cathedral is fairly strenuous but ok if you are in decent shape. There is a bus that runs up the same road, number 7 I think, but we never saw it. The owner is friendly and helpful and as long as he knows when you are arriving he will be there waiting. There are bikes to borrow and decent free wi-if. Highly recommended for independent travellers.
