This is a lovely , quiet B&B in an excellent location a short walk from everything in Portmagee. The host Tina is very nice and cooks a great breakfast. Our room was sparkling clean with a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was sparkling clean with a great shower. We loved our two night stay.

Great B&B in excellent location

We stayed at this wonderful B&B for 2 nights while visiting the area around Portmagee and Kerry. Tina was a wonderful hostess and along with her husband John, gave us a warm welcome and always ensured that everything was well and if she could be of any further assistance. While unloading the car, her son who was at home at the time, took it upon himself to bring up our luggage. Much appreciated!

The B&B is very nice and the rooms are spotless and our offered​ a beautiful view of of Valentia Island as well as the mountains in the distance. Breakfast was delicious and Tina could not have offered us a greater selection to get the day off to a start. We went out to the Skelligs and she suggested a nice scrambled egg option, which she served to a perfection.

The house is just a coupe of minutes walk from the village and is on the main Portmgee to Cahersiveen road. Portmagee has several places to eat as well as to have a quick bite at the chipper by the pier. We had a few nice meals and the favourite was Smuggler's Cafe where we had a late lunch after getting back from Skelling Michael. They do a beautiful lunch and are closed for dinner.

One can also go to several pubs that offer both indoor and outdoor service while following the Covid guidelines. While in the pub, I sampled the fine Portmagee tripled distilled whiskey, which Tina's and Joh's sons have set up.

We would highly recommend this B&B to anybody visiting the area or sailing out to the Skelligs.

Beautiful B&b with wonderful views

If you're going to Portmagee, this is a perfect place to stay. Very cute bed and breakfast with a beautiful view and a short walk to town/the harbor. The breakfast was one of the best I had while in Ireland, and the host was very kind. I will definitely stay here again if I am back in the area. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Great value and perfect location

Made to feel very welcome this is a lovely b&b.  Large room with ample space, the en suite was a very good size.   Breakfast was very good with plenty to eat with a good selection of food . Close walking distance to harbor and town.  Good selection of places to eat.   We would recommend this B&B.

Lovely stay

Oirt Magee is a lovely litle fishing port, which is well worth a vivit in it's own right.  We consider ourselves very lucky to have chosen to stay here.  A lovely bungalow with the miost amzing views across to Valentia Island.  Out room was at the front of the bungalow which was even better as we woke to an amazing sunrise ove the bay and island.  The room was spotlessly clean and beatutfully decorated  and the bathroom was very modern.  Our host was lovely and did a great breakfast of choice.  Lovely this little village and would love to stay here again

What A Find

We have stayed in about 7 bed and breakfast lodgings on our tour of the Wild Atlantic Way  and this one has been the best. They have all been very good to excellent, but this one stands above the others..The location is excellent. the room was large and well appointed. The owner was friendly and accommodating.The outside of the building is beautiful with gorgeous hydrangeas and the view across the bridge and valentia island is magnificent. And then there is the convenience of walking to the harbor where we got the boat tour that went out to Skellig Michael for the very memorable trip to the 2 Skelligs.. The Cliffs of Kerry is nearby and Valentia Island has many fabulous views of the entire area from elevated mountains.

Best B and B we've Encountered

Had ourselves a wonderful time!! Very clean, breakfast was excellent, nice views as well!! Close walking distance to the harbor/town so that we could go on the Skellig Island Tours which were great as well

Review

Located alongside the main road in Portmagee (the port to Skellig Michael!), it's easy to find. Great parking space, a warm-hearted welcome from Tina, who's hosting the rooms. Perfect bathroom (first one to find where everything works and nothing is broken!), everything in the room is neat and spotless. The room 2 and 3 which we had are very big rooms. Very quiet place during day and night. Comfy beds; double pillows! Breakfast is more than complete, with fresh home-baked brown bread. Great and fine pubs and restaurants are just a stone's throw away down the main street.
Tina arranged almost everything for our trip to Skellig Michael, including the booking which can be very difficult to come by once the OPW grants the permits to the boat operators.

Excellent, just excellent!

Stayed one night with family. Lovely spacious clean and modern room overlooking Portmagee. Good en-suite  all spotless. Choice of breakfasts including a full Irish and porridge  in a comfortable dining room with views .Loads of coffee and you could also help yourself to cereals, juice and yoghurt . Remember  you need cash to pay which seems common practice in B&Bs so come prepared because the nearest bank is 9 miles away. Would recommend the Waterfront.

Wonderful views with excellent Irish hospitality

As others have said, perfect location for those visiting Skellig Michel. We really didn't know what to expect in this small town, but we couldn't be more pleased with Tina's accommodation. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable with a spacious modern shower. Tina was extremely friendly and accommodating to ensure her fantastic breakfast was served with plenty of time for us to catch the ferry to Skellig Michel. Would not hesitate to recommend the Waterfront B&B.
