Excellent location, very clean, safe, good a/c, good breakfast. Enough English is spoken to help you to book bus tickets or drivers. Booking through their own website was very easy. Contact them via w/app +62 811.721625. Why such a strange name ? GE(orge) JAC(ob) MART(ha) : owner's husband, father and mother : isn't it cute ?

Very cozy

We stayed at Ge JacMart a few weeks ago, because we read from others that the owner if Torajan and we thought perhaps she could help us in getting to Tana Toraja. Marlah and her husband own this homestay and it is wonderful. We didn't meet him because he was in Toraja when we were there, but Marlah is so friendly, speaks pretty functional English and was so very helpful. The homestay is clean and convenient. She serves a nice breakfast. And, she has family in Tana Toraja and helped to connect us to them for a place to stay (we stayed there one night and then moved, because it was not as nice as hers in Makassar) and a relative who spent a few days guiding us. We then stayed another night at Ge JacMart on our return to Makassar before leaving Sulawesi. We highly recommend this homestay.

Great place to stay in Makassar

It was so nice to stay here and get a good rest before my next destination. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The bed has been comfortable, spacy clean room with ac. Regarding the bathroom, all is good with warm water. The are a commun space to chill out and a balcony. The location is very good close the port and good streetfood. Around 35 min from aerport. Definately the perfect place in Makassar.

Perfect place in Makassar

Makasar is not a place you want to spend to much time. A run down port city with excellent flame grilled seafood for one night stay. Our accommodation was a Gem. Walking distance to everywhere you want to go in Makasar, great restaurant around the corner, clean, neat and well appointed, surprisingly upmarket for an inexpensive price! The real Gem is the owners. Warm, charming, welcoming, helpful, real people. Will definitely on our return stay here. 

Gem in the Heart of Makasar 

This is a great place to stay in Makassar. Spotlessly clean, centrally located, and most important—amazing hospitality. The owner Marla was very welcoming, helped us with bus tickets, and drove us to the bus station. And here’s the kicker— when I forgot a dress and underwear in the room, she sent it on the next bus (10 hours away in Toraja Land) and called our hotel there to let them know that it was on the way! Thank you Marla for taking such good care of your guests!

A wonderful place

This is a very comfortable place to stay where the owner and staff make you truly feel like a guest and provide any help you could possibly need. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the bed was super comfortable, fluffy pillows, hot water and custom made breakfasts...what more could you ask for. The location is quiet yet central and plenty of food options and shops can be reached by foot. The very friendly owner Marla, helped us with our visa extension and was informative about things to see and do in the area. We really felt welcome here and I would definatly recommend staying here. Comfortable, homely and a quiet location

I highly recommend this homestay if you are going to Makassar. It is so beautiful, light and clean. The location is great as well. A room with air condition is 300.000. The only thing that I didn't like about this place was the breakfast. It was very boring, but I guess that's just how it works in Indonesia. Still I give the place 5/5 because it has been one of the best rooms I've had in Indonesia!
