Amazing quiet spot to relax, explore Canggu & surf. Lovely staff, lovely guests and great surf instructors. The food is very good, the rooms are beautiful, fresh flowers everyday! Perfect holiday to chill out and slow down. Amazing massages & beauty treatments, don’t have any negatives :)

Wow, it's so beautiful here and it feels so good 🦋 Positive, relaxed, warm and nice energy 🕉 Everyone is so kind and sweet. It feels like a family you come to ☀️ I was there for a week, but I would have loved to stay much longer! 🩷 I plan to come back soon. Learn more and better surfing, because I love it! 🤩 The instructors are also great! 🏄🏽 I never felt unsafe. I will also miss the deeply relaxing massages and yoga classes. The perfect place to get out of your head and back into your body 🙏🏼

We had a truly unforgettable experience at Pelan Pelan Bali — a beautiful retreat tucked into nature, filled with peace, kindness, and connection. Our whole family loved every moment of our stay.

My mom did the wellness package and enjoyed every bit of it — from the relaxing massages to the daily yoga and even the Balinese cooking class. It was the perfect way for her to slow down and be pampered.

My two nephews, ages 17 and 12, learned how to surf for the first time and absolutely loved it! The instructors were so patient and encouraging — they made the boys feel safe, excited, and proud of themselves.

I chose the yoga and surf package and it was everything I hoped for — a perfect balance of movement, adventure, and grounding. Practicing yoga surrounded by nature was so nourishing for body and soul.

One of the most special parts of the retreat was the people. Everyone who works at Pelan Pelan is incredibly kind, genuine, and always ready to help with a warm smile. We also met the sweetest group of people from all over the world — and somehow, we all connected so quickly and effortlessly. It felt like we were meant to meet.

And of course, meeting Emma, the owner, was such a gift. She’s a beautiful soul — grounded, open-hearted, and full of light. You can really feel her spirit in everything about the retreat.

We recently returned from our trip to Indonesia with the last week spent at Pelan Pelan. We chose it for its small, family-oriented atmosphere and I can say it did not disappoint. From day one the entire staff made us feel right at home. If you're looking for a smaller resort with a more intimate feel this is the place. Pelan Pelan was the perfect place to spend our last week of surfing, relaxation, and reflection. 

To Komang, Alit, and Dadi, you were by far the best surf instructors I've ever had. Thank you for your friendship, your kindness and patience, and always making us feel safe while out in the water. 
To Puspa and Erin, thank you for all the hard work you do to help us all relax. The spa treatments were wonderful.
To Lode and Lelly, thank you for accommodating all our special requests. You made our stay incredibly relaxing and trouble-free.

I came with family for a 7-day spa package. I did not surf but all my family members that did absolutely loved it. Everything in my package was lovely, amazing masseuses and spa treatments, a good variety of yoga classes, and even a fun Balinese cooking class. The grounds were also beautiful, relaxing, and very well kept everyday. The place is a very outdoor vibe, including your bathrooms (they’re very private and connected to your room but they are essentially outside). But our room’s AC unit worked wonderfully to give us a place to cool off. The staff were all so friendly and always ready to help. They are an all-star team from the kitchen to reception to housekeeping and more. They even facilitate a day-trip once a week for guests to see some Bali landmarks. And the nightly dinner shuttle is perfect to get you into town to hit many of the nice restaurants and stores. Pelan Pelan is not currently in walking distance of much, but you can easily ask the front desk to arrange cars to bring you into the busier areas nearby. Or if you’re feeling active, you can take one of the offered bikes a couple miles to some restaurants and shops. 

I also really like the small amount of guests, it made the whole stay much cozier and less commercialized than bigger resorts. It was fun to get to know the different guests. Pelan Pelan fosters a great environment for solo travelers to meet new friends. And two friendly, chill dogs are always a plus for me! 

I highly recommend Pelan Pelan for any travelers looking for a cozier stay, stress-free surf trips, and onsite spa treatments.

Pelan Pelan was the perfect get away!I spent most of my time relaxing at the spa and pool and then exploring the surrounding areas. My family however, are big surfers and it was great to have a place that was well balanced where we all had something that interested us. On my more adventurous days I would go out surfing and it was great to have an instructor that could simultaneously teach me (beginner) and my boyfriend (intermediate) and still make it feel like we were all surfing together. I learned A LOT in the few lessons I had and the instructors were super kind and trustworthy in addition to being great teachers!

The Pelan Pelan spa team was AMAZING. I like to get a lot of massages and spa treatments in general and these ladies are the real deal. Super talented! I would come back to Pelan Pelan just to see them again.

I had a great stay at Pelan Pelan. Emma and Putu have created a truly special place. The location is beautifal and all their team members, from the reception staff to the cleaners and chefs, really go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. I did the 7 day surf package, with the 2 to 1 ratio (2 students to 1 instructor) meaning you got heaps of 1 on 1 time with your instructor. My instructor was Komang, who was fantastic. He was super encouraging, gave some good tips and tricks and also super aware of your safety in the water, which was great for a beginner. The great thing about Pelan Pelan is they cater to all surfing abilities, taking you to different spots depending on your experience. The breakfast and lunches provided were a great addition and really delicious. I would highly recommend a stay at Pelan Pelan and would happily come back again :)

This 7 day solo trip was super amazing thanks to the staff and the best surf coach Dadi!!

As a total beginner the surf coaches were super accommodating and I improved a lot in five days. I even got some videos of me surfing hehe. Yoga was challenging, esp Vinyasa with Sida, but fun!

The meals at the resort (breakfast lunch) were absolutely amazing, fresh and I loved the dining atmosphere - travellers around the world all chatting at the shared table.💚

Amazing! Everyone was so generous and kind. The camp is situated in the most beautiful and remote surroundings and the surf instructors are very knowledgeable and always prioritise your safety. I loved my time here, I am definitely coming back!
