Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were neat, food was very tasty. 
Only problem I see is most of the rooms had doors to other rooms if all rooms gets occupied by different families/ couples there would be concern for privacy, as we were a group of 12 complete bungalow was  for us 

Good Place 

The location is accessible to the kotagiri town. The ambience and surroundings are good. They can do better in keeping the old property clean and tidy. They have courteous staff, Suitable for a family stay

Nice villa

The setting of the place is beautiful.Lots of birds around the property.Neither is it in an isolated area, nor it's on the main road.It is a 5-10 minute drive from Nehru circle.Food is delicious.Service is very prompt.It looks like a colonial bungalow.

A word of caution : Following Google maps led us through a shortcut where there was no road at all.Do not take the road from Aravenu.Take the main road till Nehru circle instead.

Colonial bungalow in the heart of kotagiri

This is a house where they gave us a room , we had a train to take in the evening and  we were staying here for half a day .  This house was covered with low willow trees that looked mesmerizing .  Rooms were very clean . Bed linen was perfect . 

The carpets were very old and dilapidated. The bathrooms were clean , but dint have handwash / soaps or tissues. 

They had called us before and asked us the menu for our lunch . The cook was a fine one , yet  i was aghast when i saw a mouse running wild in the kitchen . I asked the caretaker and he says this place has many many  mouses and they all run over .  The mouses are so clever that they know where a trap is :( .  The kitchen was clean and the food was fine . 

The caretaker Mr.Rajamani was the one with whom we were interacting with , after we reached the place he went incommunicado . We only had the watchman to speak to and the cooks also came and told us they had to leave early . 

We dint have a car and there are no nearby restaurants. When we were leaving  we got an invoice that was more than what we booked on booking.com  . When we called Rajamani he would not answer and the poor watchman said if you dont pay this he will deduct this from my salary . Since the difference was only 275 rs we decided to pay and move on .  

This place is a quiet and fantastic place for a retreat and a stop over. Would not recommend it as a place to stay for families with kids , especially it has  no genset when power goes :) .

Excellent place for a stop over

We stayed at the Marsh Villa for a night. It is about a km from the Kotagiri centre and is in midst of a small tea estate. The place is very calm and peaceful. The villa has 5 bed rooms, we were alloted the one at right corner. 

Good  :
• Calm and peaceful
• Not too far from the town centre
• Very friendly and helpful care taker
• Good food
• Good Wi-Fi speed

Not so good :
• The room had a pungent, musky smell which cleared out after we kept the windows open
• Luxury is a misnomer. The facilities are basic.
• They have only one cook who comes in the during meal times. Order needs to be give in advance. 
• The villa needs a bit of retouch.
