To be honest I came to backpacker panda Delhi for 2 days and extended for another 6. The reason was simple : the atmosphere and staff was excelent. The rooms were clean and the food was great but the best thing was the staff. They were helpful in more than one way. They provided me with the information about all the activities and arranged a vehicle for good price.  Like I have been to a lot of hostels before but never had such service. For the next few days he showed me some sites in Delhi .I am still staying here, and I already feel the need to spread the word about this place. Friendly, relaxed, helpful and just generally an amazing responsible backpacker hostel. Now that is what I call service.thank-you bacpacker team

Besttest service i got from backpacker

Most friendly  and helpful receptionist ever,  so lovely  and great people around neat and clean place. The common room and the kitchen is nice as well you can cook Your Own food.i recommend this place to my all of friends.

Perfect example of how a good hostel should be!

This nice hostel lies at the end of Main Bazaar. 
The rooms are well kept and the staff is friendly.
The rooftop terrace has bonfire every night.
I do want to warn you about the dodgy travel agency they havebon site. Unfortunately I book my transport and some accommodation with this guy (Ashik) the transport turned out ok, although it is way cheaper when you book it yourself elsewhere (station)
the accommodation he promised was not okay!! 
He put me in a dodgy place in Ranthambore that had a very similar name to the nice place he showed me on his computer.
He was also going to get me a room in the hostel for the last night.. which he didn't! Send me to a cheap hotel nearby... 
He always had some reason... 
 

Well kept place, but don't book trips there

If you can please avoid this shack. They claim that their double bedded rooms are best but my experience of staying in Ganga (name of the room) is dismal and bad. The room just had one bed and a broken office executive chair. The toilet and bathroom was very unhygienic and all poop came out from the drain once you flushed the commode toilet. So the bathroom floor was full of excreta from the drain and commode. The shower just sprayed water like a nebuliser and not like a shower and hot and cold water did not mix properly. The staff only cared for the foreigners and was totally interested to con the innocent foreign tourists visiting the hostel. Some even echoed  and foul mouthed about India with the idea that they can gel well with the foreign backpackers. I had to change my stay after two nights inspite of the location being convenient. I had 4 nights booking but cancelled 2 nights and am thankful and really appreciate the management that they promptly returned my money for the unused 2 nights. 

NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STAY

This review is for the private room "Yamuna". All the rooms are named after rivers. The first night we slept in "Gange" which was not as pleasent. In that room there were no pictures on the walls and no windows facing the outside. Luckily our toilet stopped working the second day, and the staff got us a new room in 2 minutes. That was very professionally solved.

The new room "Yamuna" was much more cozy. There were pictures on the wall and there was a big window facing the street.

The receptionist was very helpfull when I ordered a package to the hostel. He explained two different drivers the way for me, and he brought me the package when it arrived.

If this was a review for the "Gange" room, I would not have given as many stars.. Maybe it would be nice to change the prices, so that rooms like Gange cost 800 rupee, and rooms like Yamuna cost 1200 rupee, instead of both costing 1000 rupee, and you get one at random.

Great when you get a good private room

Left a day early... honestly did not feel welcome or clean, shower and bath room were not clean and tidy.. one side of the bed was wet... ended up sleeping on the sofa in the common room then booking elsewhere for my second night.

Was it a one off? Or...

Front desk staff were really helpful.I loved the entire experience.Best place for solo travellers.

Go for it!!

This place was a little hard to find. After passing a few times I finally found the little doorway. I was welcomed right away and got a pretty decent room. The Wi-Fi was actually really fast. The shower has hot water. The traffic outside the room is loud all night long, but I didn't hear any disco music like otter guest said. The air conditioning worked and there are fans in the room which kept me cool all night. There are people inside who are way too friendly, it's because they are trying to sell you tour packages. That was a bit annoying being pressured to buy tours

Great price, great room

The AC worked. That's huge for someone like me that doesn't enjoy the heat and humidity of Delhi. Enjoyed hanging out with all the guys at the front desk. They were friendly and helpful when I needed help finding stuff around the city. The location is as convenient as you can get when it comes to catching the Metro. You're also right in the middle of Paharganj, which is nice.

First time at Panda

Helpful friendly staff , great place to meet people . It has large indoor and outdoor area with kitchen which the staff clean every day.  The best hostel we have stayed in to date.
