Amazing view from each and every room. Loved the view of the snow covered mountains and the little stream. Great hospitality and meals. Stayed for a week. Would like to visit Mantra each year. Highly recommend it. 

So we booked Mantra on MakeMyTrip thinking it was a 5 star hotel because of its reviews. This was clearly my mistake because Mantra is obviously a guest house. However, what it lacks in infrastructure it more than makes up in service. Excellent manager, delicious food and terrific support service are some of the reasons I recommend Mantra. One minor thing they could improve is invest in a better WiFi. Other than that these guys are awesome. Highly recommend you stay with them

Warmly recommended. In a quite area just outside of the acetic Leh. The owner and the staff did all they can to make us feel comfortable. A good restaurant with reasonable prices. We had two stays, three days when we've arrived to Leh and after the Marka valley trek, both was excellent, clean rooms and great service.

Located just 600 m from the famous Shanti Stupa, Mantra Cottage offers rooms providing a mountain view. It operates a 24-hour front desk to welcome guests at all hours and free WiFi access is available in hotel rooms.
Each room here will provide you with a TV, a seating area and cable channels. Featuring free toiletries, private bathroom also comes with slippers. Extras include a fan.The property offers free parking.
The hotel is 1.6 km from the Karzu Pond and 5 km from Leh Golf Course. The Leh Bus Station is 3.1 km away while the Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport is 7.3 km away.

This was a perfect pick. Really nice location just outside of town where it’s quiet and with amazing views. The walk to town is easy, so you aren’t cut off either.

The staff are particularly kind and helpful and the food in the Cantina is good as well. I can recommend the paranthas for breakfast:)

Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Excellent staff. Very helpful manager. Nice location. Would highly recommend the place to all. Food is great too. We stayed there with our two dogs for 3days. Had a very comfortable stay.

I was in Leh at the end of the tourist season. Consequently, I was the lone guest at Mantra Cottage. But I was given great company by the owners & taken good care of. The Cottage is away from the hustle - bustle of the city but in the lap of nature. A nice garden made for a wonderful spot to bask in the Sun.

My room was on the second floor and had a nice view. It was comfortable but the washroom lacked hot water. The dining area also served as the lounge; I spent a few hours speaking to locals sitting there. I'd basic but tasty meals.

MantraCottage, Leh is located walking distance from ShantiStupa. Surrounded by mountains and overlooks a water stream. Feels like home away from home. Rooms are spacious with sunshine during the day time and one can view the starry nights. There are a few wooden cottages as well. In house restaurant caters to multi-cuisine food. If traveling in group, they are generous to cook as per specifications given by the guests. The hotel has a vibrant living room with Ladakhi style seating and a garden with a few apple & apricot trees. A small kitchen garden which caters to the hotel kitchen. On colder nights they have provision for born-fire. Not too fancy. Basic amenities but fulfilling experience.

Three of us, friends, got a trip organized to celebrate a birthday in Leh-Ladakh.  While the trip was organized by a travel outfit in Mumbai, our main point of contact throughout our four-day stay was Tenzing from the Mantra Cottage.  

Right from the point we got into Leh, Tenzing, Karma and their team provided an incredible level of local stewardship and, on many occasions, went over and above their call of duty. Between Tenzing and Karma (both from Mantra Cottage), they:
-	Arranged our pick up and drop off to and from the Leh airport
-	Advised us on how to get acclimated to the high altitude (cannot be disregarded)
-	Arranged our trips to Nimmu, Khardungla, Lake Pongong and several others
-	Organized our meals, including a picnic basket for the trip to Lake Pongong
-	Suggested some of the finest places in Leh for our outside meals (and there are plenty of places)

At the property, higher floors are recommended, facing the mountains (that is if your lungs stand by you) – the dramatic sunset is picture postcard worthy. Make time to take in the sights at the property, especially the exotic flowers, and the apples (tended by Karma) and also the beautiful sound and sight of rivulet that flows through the property. 

The meals at Mantra Cottage are wholesome and homely; food is not presented as the top line attraction.  Local dishes that are outstanding include the Mutton Shapta, Mutton Thupka, the Tigmo bread and, of course, the Momos. There was one dish that I loved, unfortunately, I was not able to write down the name correctly: sounds like Mutton Ruchowie (sp?).

Do not miss the opportunity to take a walk to the local market; the return is recommended by local cabs that are available at the cab stand at the far end of the Pedestrian Plaza – it is quite a hike to walk both ways.  Specific attractions besides the the Pedestrian Plaza are the Eat Street establishments around Fort Street (they are in close proximity).  Exercise caution if you are of the shopping type: cosmetic jewelry, pashmina shawls (?) are the typical fare.

Relax and enjoy at your home away from home at the Mantra Cottage

Stayed at Mantra cottage for 3 nights in June 2023. Had read decent reviews for this hotel so requested for the same while making the bookings to the travel agent. Our stay was just above average in this hotel. The best part of the hotel is the view from the room. It was absolutely gorgeous! The rooms are decently sized, however the beds could be a little more comfortable. Hot water was a constant issue during out stay, especially in the evenings. We to do continuously call the reception and even then they could not resolve the issue completely. Food was average, could be better. Also, they do not have a proper kitchen to order food 24/7. Apart from their set meals they just have some snacks and this isn't really appealing for guests. Overall, our stay was full of mixed emotions - would call it an average stay.
