I had a wonderful, albeit short stay at Jaswant Niwas...my family and i enjoyed the personal attention of the owners, Hemant Raj Singh and Mrs Leena Singh. The food prepared was mouth watering and plentifully. The menu was not repeated and they even made efforts to serve mirchi badas and kachories during tea time! A must stay when in Jodhpur.

Awesome!

Mr Hemant himself was waiting for us right at the main gate. A big teddy bear kind of personality in his traditional white kurta, He welcomed us with a warm smile and took our car inside his personal parking. I could not imagine all that young energetic conversation was made by this person; He is indeed young at heart. He helped my dog to be at complete peace by showing her the big lawn he has got in the house.

This place has a big traditional Rajasthani corridor which is not very common these days in big cities. By now my mind connected and acknowledged the fact that this is why Rajasthani’s are called most humble people on earth. 

Rooms are cozy and very ethnic with all the modern amenities. I could not believe interiors and the garden is maintained by the family themselves.

When I arrived at this place it was already 5:30 pm evening. We were served Indian masala tea with the good warm conversation of one to two hours. Mr and Mrs Hemant are so welcoming and warm. Mrs. Hemant is such a plant lover, stylish and creative person. Every piece of the decorated corner, the little shrine, little tables and interiors of this place are so traditional yet so modern in their own way.

Home away from home

The experience with Jaswant Niwas started right from the time I was looking for a decent stay in Jodhpur. We were a family of 10 people with the age group of 4 to 60 so I was clearly looking at a family-friendly and budget-friendly place. After doing a lot of r&d, I stumbled upon Jaswant Niwas. I checked the reviews and almost all of them were positive. I checked the pictures of the property and everything looked beautiful. Then I got in touch with the owner of the place, Hemantji and he turned out to be a gem of a person. I liked the fact that he was pretty straight forward as well as a warm and friendly person. While most people in his position would only be interested in the number of days we intend to spend at their property, Hemantji took a keen interest in our itinerary and made helpful suggestions. He even helped us arrange cabs from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur at the last moment. 

Now, coming to the property, it is a lovingly crafted place. Every room is beautifully done and every nook and corner of the room delights you with something creative. Also, each room has a different look and feel therefore it doesn't feel templatized. A lot of thought must have gone into every little thing in the room. The linens, the furniture, the quilts/blankets, the artefacts, the bathrooms - everything was tastefully chosen and/or done. Even the beds where quite comfortable as the mattresses were not too soft and not too hard. Unlike artificial air fresheners used by hotels, there was a subtle and likeable fragrance in each room with the help natural air fresheners. 

While the breakfast menu is deceptively simple, it delights you with its tasty and homely flavours. Hemantji's wife was also a wonderful host and it reflected in the way she and her staff made us delicious breakfast. The way Hemantji and his wife hosted us, we felt that we've come to a relative's place and not at some paid accommodation. Pet lovers will love this place, even more, thanks to Dizzy, their adorable dachshund. On the other hand, even if you're not a pet person, the dog is extremely friendly and won't even bark at you. 

While I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Jodhpur I have a small request. Please respect the place which Hemantji has made so lovingly. With all due respect to people reading this review, please don't abuse this place and help maintain its beauty and dignity. Because places like these are very, very few and therefore they need to be treated with the utmost care, respect, and love. 

Hemantji, if you're reading this, thank you for everything. Hope this place brings you great guests, interesting stories, beautiful memories, and a flourishing business. 

A Stay That Will Stay With You Forever!

This home stay is just wonderful experience.from the moment you enter the garden until you have left, the owners give you a  warm feeling. They help with everything they can.  The rooms are splendid. Every detail is taken care of, and chosen with love. Warm water, breakfast powerful aircon. al the facilities you need are there! Dont hesitate just come here.. you won't regret !  the tuk tuk ride to town ( 200 r) and you sleep in a quiete area.


Feels like home

GOOD STAY AND GOOD PEOPLE. VERY ECONOMIC AND CLOSE TO AIRPORT FOR HUSSLE FREE STAY. Happy with the service and also felt very good during our stay. Nice environment. Good breakfast. Easy to commute. And also good hospitality

Best Place to stay

This was our second visit at Jaswant Niwas and it was again a very wonderful experience. Be it the well decorated rooms or Mr Hemant and his family's warm hospitality, everything was more than perfect.
Not to forget Mr Hemants's guidance about places to see, shopping options, restaurants to try in Jodhpur always comes very handy.

Yet another memorable stay

Is it a Hotel? Is it a Resort? NO. It is a Home away from Home and the Hosts are truly a wonderful and likeable people. Mr.Hemant and family have this Homestay at a stone's throw distance from The Umaid Bhavan Palace. But I would rather stay here than go to the Palace.

The rooms are beautifully and tastefully done. Hygiene is kept in the top most drawer by them. The breakfast menu is simple but excellent.

A conversation with the family about things to do in Jodhpur is a must. Their advice and guidance is spot on

Home Away From Home

We stayed at Jaswant niwas on our trip around Rajasthan last month for 3 nights. We were a family of 4 adults with our 2 year old. The moment we entered the lovely house, we felt very invited and had a warm welcome. Both Mr Hemant and his wife Leena are lovely hosts along with their son and Dizzy their dog matter it a perfect stay during our trip

Our rooms were very aesthetically decorated and very clean. The rooms are equipped with coffee and tea sachets with water heater and given our rooms were on the 1 st floor, we had the terrace also to ourselves. Our daughter enjoyed running around the place. 

The breakfast spread is very tasty and good. We had poha, sandwiches alongwith with coffee and tea and everything was to notch

Hemantiji is and should be your go to person for itinerary planning and places to eat at and he is more than happy to help with the same. The best part of a homestay is that they let you life in their homes and make us a part of their lives. Thanks for making our Jodhpur visit the best party of our trip and having us in our home

One of the best homestays ever, truly

We stayed in jaswant niwas during our weeklong Rajasthan trip. Mr.Hemant, by far, is the most gracious host ever. He went out of his way to suggest places of interest and restaurants in Jodhpur as well as other cities.The rooms and premises are very well kept. It had all the comforts of home and beyond. Definitely a place to stay for dog lovers. After Jaswant niwas, all other accomodations pale in comparison.

Best homestay ever

Our connect with Hemant Raj Singh, started the time we started to drive from Vadodara , Gujarat. He directed us to the best places throughout our journey with the best places to eat,places to see on the way and take care of your speed limit as well. Our stay was planned well, taking care of our interests and the kids as well .The rooms are clean and tastefully designed and  needless to say about the delicious food. We enjoyed our chats with the couple talking about the history and heritage of the Jodhpur and especially his experiences while being a part of managing the Mehragarh fort. Also the trip doesn't end without shopping for which we were guided as well . All in all , a very comfortable stay with warm and welcoming family.
