Location:
Location of this guest house is excellent, merely 5 minute walk from the platform number 4,5 exit of Railway station. One can also see the famous Gwalior narrow Gauge train by just walking outside the property main gate. Nice view of Gwalior fort. 

Transportation:
It is near to Railway station and Padav square (A commercial hub), so transportation is easily available here. Ola Cab and Ola Autos are available within 5 minute reach most of the time.

Rooms:
Rooms are clean, having LED Tv, Cable connection, Water container of i think 5ltr capacity, 2 glasses, ash tray, a working table, double bed, telephone, bedside counters and garbage bin. Bed is very comfortable. Bedsheet is old but clean.

Washrooms:
Washroom is clean, has WC. Hot and Cold water available for shower as well as bucket use. Bucket, mug and a small stool is provided. Cream and Body & Hair wash is also provided, Doormat and garbage bin provided. Here again, the towel provided is old but washed very well and it was clean.

Food:
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in the room (Complimentary breakfast also served in room).Taste was excellent, better than many highly priced hotels in Gwalior. Thali recommended as it has nice quantity for a great price.

Overall Experience:
Had a good stay for 2 nights, staff is helpful and polite. Rooms are good and a working table is provided but lack of chair for that working table made it useless, Toilet paper and paper napkins are also not provided in the room, wifi also didn't worked for me . So one star deducted for this, wanted to give 4.5 but that option is not available. Will definitely recommend this place.

Good budget accommodation for travellers and backpackers

We arrived in Gwalior quite early in the morning, having travelled from Orchha. We were able to see all the main sights of the city in one day and leave for Agra the following morning. Gwalior is certainly worth a nights stop to see its amazing fort complex. We were very satisfied with Gulmohar Guesthouse; our room was clean and very comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful and the bed very soft. Our only wish was that we'd had an AC room because, with only a fan, the room was stifling hot at the end of March. Unfortunately there were no windows for ventilation. Staff at the guesthouse were kind and courteous. The location was also very good- an easy 5 minutes walk to the railway station and also just a short walk to some great restaurants, including the Indian Coffee House. 

A great place to stay in Gwalior 

This is my worst accommodation yet in India.
Some hotels and guesthouses love the term complimentary breakfast, NO it’s included in the room price.
This was the worst so called breakfast I have ever had, 4 very thin slices of toast, with god knows what smeared on them, and the smallest possible cup of coffee, not a breakfast just an insult.
The guesthouse looked and was dirty.
As other reviews have already said the staff are completely rude very unfriendly and unprofessional.
I would not have stayed here if I had not booked online.
As soon as I had booked Rs999 they tried to make me upgrade on the confirmation email to Rs1850 telling me it was a nicer room, that price is completely ridiculous for this standard of accommodation.
I then negotiated a miserable Rs50 discount, not that any knew or wanted to know when I arrived.
My room was worth no more than Rs500.
If the staff are polite and pleasant you can over look quite a lot, but they weren’t so I will not.
I hated my stay at this so called guesthouse.

Dirty and rude staff

Me and my husband have traveled far and wide not only in India but also Canada without having my passport update to contain my husband's name. 
Under the Special Marriage Act 1954, a woman is allowed to retain her religion, caste, surname or address post marriage but the officials were not convinced, they wanted a marriage photo or marriage certificate to stamp us married couples (we weren't having any). He even went on to comment that it's not done, that the wife has not changed the surname. I should update it. (Thanks for your unwelcomed insight!!)
We choose to walk out. 

A inhospitable host is worst than dirty bathroom. 

Rejected on basis of Moral Policing

The manager and staff of this hotel are extremely rude and unprofessional. Mind you, if you are a woman DO NOT enter this place. Small unclean rooms. No services whatsoever. But I repeat, most of all hateful, hateful staff. Would strongly advice against it.
