Small family homestay in central Fort Kochi. Ivan and his family are always welcoming and are always happy to arrange things around Kochi for you to do and see. He's a keen biker and has mototorbikes for hire and organises mototorbike tours of Kerala. He'll book you a backwaters trip or a tuc tuc tour of Kochi. 
There rooms are basic but very clean with hot water and a homemade Indian or continental breakfast available for a nominal extra cost. 
There's a communal eating area outside the rooms with a TV should you feel inclined. 
The one thing that I'd say needs attention is the paintwork in the rooms which is looking very shabby in places at the moment. Time for a facelift! 
Bathrooms are spacious and clean. 
These rooms are up two flights of stairs but someone will carry your suitcase if it's big and heavy. 
Highly recommended for a friendly, helpful and very budget friendly stay in Fort Kochi that's centrally situated within a few minutes walking distance of shops, restaurants, the harbour and fishing nets. 

Perfect budget friendly homestay with kind and helpful hosts. 

Really good place next to the beach. The host was very helpful and arranged our stay on short notice. The rooms were well ventilated and had mosquitos nets installed. It’s a short walk to the beach and other attractions. Highly recommended.

Great home stay at prime location

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights recently and we were blown away when we arrived at how great the facilities were - excellent value for money.

The room itself had a modern feel to it and was very clean and spacious, as was the bathroom which had hot water.

Great location, just around the corner from the Kerala kathakali centre and close to local and tourist restaurants.

We had breakfast at the hostel one morning which was also fantastic and a good price.

I would highly recommend this hostel for your stay in fort Kochi. If there was more to do in Kochi itself we could have stayed here for a lot longer!



Fantastic accommodation... perfect!

I traveled with a group of 4 friends (all college-aged women) and we had a fantastic experience at i-One's Homestay. The facilities were immaculately clean, and Ivan and his family were so warm and accommodating. They even let us store our extra luggage in their home while we traveled to Alleppey and Munnar for a few days before we returned to Fort Kochi. Additionally, the homemade breakfast was delicious. Overall, would absolutely recommend!

I had a wonderful stay. Ivan and his family were helpful and kind. The shower has great pressure which was a huge plus for me. I should have opted for the a/c room but there was a good fan in the non-a/c.  You get your moneys worth!

Great place!

Rooms are a little tired and need a reno. We opted for one without a fan...big mistake, should have got one with ac. A fridge in the room would be nice as would more plugs to charge up your electronics. the existing ones (all two of them) are so old that plugs fall out. Why only one chair on the balcony? 
No where when we booked did it say it was cash only for payment, which I was a bit miffed about. And if you haven't got the right money don't expect change! A very nice area of Fort Kochi, with a few improvements and upgrades I would stay here again. 

Great Value in Fort Kochi

My husband and I stayed here for two nights last week. Our room (no.102) was comfortable although a lot of ants! The ceiling fan was adequate. The balcony was very nice.
The homestay is in a nice location, a 2 minute walk to the Cathedral. It is ran by a friendly family who can help book tours and tickets if required.
We hired a motorbike for an afternoon which I felt was a little pricey (500 rupees), but an easy option for us.

Family-run homestay in a good location

I stayed for a total of 3 weeks in December and am about to return for a further stay. Of all the places I have stayed, this has been the friendliest and the cleanest. Ivan and his lovely family go out of their way to help you, and the Keralan breakfast that Rene cooks is amazing.
They have a variety of rooms. The older ones have balconies but older bathrooms, whilst the newer ones dont have balconies but super bathrooms. All have clean sheets and towels and shiny floors!

The best homestay in Fort Kochi

AVOID AVOID AVOID
Ivan supplies dangerous bikes which are unfit for the roads, let alone off road which was our plan for these Himalayans.
Day 1 I had to return the bikes 4 times in 24 hours to get them roadworthy, which delayed our trip byb24 hours.
On one bike the suspension failed after 4 days, the rear brake was metal to metal after 300km, the rear brake light and indicator didn't work and the clutch seized.
The front knee guard lost a bolt and then broke off. Several bolts came loose and the bike had poor levels of power.
We lost 1 day at the start and two whole days in the middle of the trip recovering the bike and getting them fixed.
When the guard fell off and the power was poor we ended our trip a day early.
Ivan does not believe his bikes are bad - this is a very dangerous attitude and you should never hire a bike from him.
When we returned to complain today, he had been drinking and was very beligerent, only refunding us 1 days hire.
Happily Riderly we're on hand to help us out otherwise we would have been stuffed

I stayed at i1 and rented a bike from them. Both proved to be a mistake the accommodation was unclean with stained sheets and the selection of old poorly maintained bikes is extensive. Mr Joseph simply could not care for his guests comfort or well being.
