Best hostel I stayed in while travelling round Europe. Everyone is really friendly, and the staff make you feel welcome immediately. The hostel is pretty small and cosy and feels very tight knit, with everyone socialising easily. And there are great nights out and parties if that's your thing. 

My one note of caution is that maybe things sometimes go a bit far on the party side. At the end of one night when I stayed there in early Jan, some people wound up having sex on a sofa in the living room, after lots of drinking. This was laughed about and brushed off the next day as just one of those things. But later the next day another guest shared with a few people a short video they had filmed of the people having sex on the sofa. This was just done as a bit of a laugh, and not maliciously, but I don't know if the people on the sofa knew or would have bene comfortable with that.

Aside from this, everything about the hostel was near enough perfect. I plan to return! 

Awesome hostel to meet people and party

Stayed here for three nights and had a blast. Amazing staff and well organized group activities. Free breakfast, towels, padlocks and tea/coffee. A nice inviting/cozy hostel that felt safe.  It was also in a very nice central location conveniently right next to the Budapest-Nyugati train station.

In carpe noctem you can feel that u are at home! Everyone in the staff are super friendly people, also they are ready to help u whenever u need something… they’re planning activities every day for the guests.. i have no complains about them!

U can feel that you’re with your family!

If you are looking for a party hostel but still want to be in a place where is possible to have a good night of sleep that is definitely the place. The hostel is perfectly exactly as the description. The atmosphere there is really good, you will make new friends for sure. And the best part about this hostel is the staff. Junior, Diz, Doggo and Street will let you to the best ruin pubs and the craziest parties ever. They are the best staff ever and really good people. You will love them!

The best staff ever!

Really nice homely feeling hostel where you can really get to know everyone staying there. It's a party hostel but there is 0 pressure to get involved and is super easy to get a good nights sleep. We did the hostel bar crawl on the Friday with Diz which was good fun and got to see loads of the ruins bars. They have a family dinner every night which is good so make sure you put your name down on the board for it! Also the beds were sooo comfy!

Lovely place!

I stayed at Carpe Noctem for 4 nights. Despite arriving early in the morning from a shuttle (organised by Carpe) I was greeted by a friendly ‘Diz’. In the morning Diz took me through the best intro to the city briefing including a map/diagrams/recommendations/etc. This confidentially set me up feeling ready to conquer Budapest. 
Facilities: Carpe had all the necessities including free towel, hair dryer/straightener/shampoo. There was also free bread and eggs 👌 Place was also always clean. 
Staff: The staff were incredible, genuine professionals. They were always there for you, really as your mates rather than just staff and even went above and beyond to help me out when I accidentally left a fair amount of cash there on the day of my departure. all the love for Diz, Junior and Doggo ❤️ 
Guests: As everyone there were nearly solo travellers we all became friends instantly. Most nights we had family dinner together which was delicious and made by the staff, had some pre drinks and got silly with some drinking games. We would then head out to the very diverse (well all included drinking..) awesome night events that were organised flawlessly - from boat parties bar/bus crawls. 

Overall this was an amazing experience I’ll always remember and couldn’t rate the staff, culture of the hostel and the friends I made highly enough. Will be back xoxox

Legends of Carpe

A mad wild two days! Tempurpedic mattress, family dinners, great location, true budget hostel with more than the amenities. They just want to give everyone everything they can - take advantage of their local recommendations. Staff Doggo, Diz and Junior are prime mates in a prime place. The nights are absolutely insane. Stay as long as you can!!

All that and a bag of chips

Fun little party hostel where one can relax too if they wanted too. They don't have that many beds so its easy to socialize with other people. They were also quite clean and well maintained for a party hostel so that a major plus !

Never have I ever come across a hostel that is so accommodating for solo travellers. As soon as I walked in the door, I was offered a free tea, a friendly check in from Sunshine and a whole hour going through the map to show me what's best in the city. The parties are bloody incredible, but I also got a really good sleep due to the quiet hours. 10/10 would stay again!

Best hostel in the world.

I recently stayed here by myself and it really was a fantastic hostel - very inviting atmosphere. THe hostel has a limited amount of beds so you won't get overwhelmed and i like that there weren't groups of 10 people who already knew each other.

Beds were very clean, facilities were provided. There were social events every night but if you weren't feeling up to it, you weren't made to feel bad or anti-social and staff respected you. This hostel is part of a party chain however is a quieter hostel and you DEFINITELY can get rest/sleep if you want a quiet night in. I wasn't disturbed once. 

I felt that Sunshine and Mouse really went the extra mile to be friendly and lovely - thank you. The only thing is I felt on-off hot-and-cold inconsistent vibes from a specific female staff member - she was friendly on first welcome but then became quite cold and distant. 

Otherwise this really is a perfect hostel for solo travellers. Thanks Carpe Noctem
