This city has lots of hidden gems and feels like your ‘off the beaten track’. Me and my partner were pleasantly surprised with how much it had to offer. So many cool dive bars and friendly locals happy to see you enjoying their city. This city really is a ‘hidden gem on the gringo trail’. Me and my partner (both on a six month traveling trip of South/Central America) had to skip Nicaragua due to political unrest and flew from Costa Rica to Honduras, we had no expectations but were extremely surprised by this lively, quirky and happening hostel - the staff here and owners make you feel at home and most importantly safe. We found the flight to be cheaper into Tegucigalpa than San Pedro (by $200) so it’s a great alternative entry point into Honduras, plus it’s super easy by bus to Bay Islands. The hostel has heaps of information on the area, and onward destinations in Honduras. They can help and sort any onward travel too! The dorms are well equipped with an ensuite, comfortable beds, charging outlets, air con, fan and even a fridge in the room! Juan and Coco the owners our legends and speak fluent English! The food offered here at the hostel is epic and the beer is ice cold! We instantly felt safe and at home once arriving to this hostel. We will be back! Thanks guys. C & A x
