We stayed in Ammos for 2 weeks in September just in time for the government to tack 2 weeks quarantine on the end, so kind. Within half an hour of the measure being announced the Simpsons rep was on the phone asking did we want to get home the next day or to stay for our second week. This was typical of the fabulous service we received from Simpsons Travel from the moment of booking. On arrival the Welcome Pack was sufficient to cook a meal on the first night rather than a sticky cake which we normally experience. The suite was cleaned and bedding changed on 5 occasions during the stay. Although the galley kitchen is small it was well equipped with everything we needed to cook and BBQ. I found a good local butcher about 2 km further along the coast (by the petrol station). Despite the language problem I was able to buy mince by pointing at a picture of a cow and the mincing machine. Beware if you ask for chicken breast (filet) as you will get both breasts. We did a big shop at a supermarket in Ierepetra and then topped up locally which was fine. We ate 3 times at Psarapolou Tavern, a 5 minute walk away, including a take away one night. Highly recommended. We both needed to seriously chill and this was the perfect place to do it. We'd go again without hesitation and also go elsewhere with Simpsons
