This property is owned and managed by a mother-daughter team, Irene and Kelly. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable and happy. Their 8 rooms are spotless and come with 2 twin beds and a private bathroom, plus kitchen amenities such as mini-fridge, sink, stove top with 2 burners, including dishes/glasses/silverware and pots. In addition to giving helpful advice on what to see in Kos, they make Greek coffee for you every morning! I rented a room here for 3 nights. It was just me, and I paid 25 Euros for each night between May 17, 18 and 19. Prices are higher in other months. I would come back here in a heartbeat!

Spent two nights in Kos at this lovely place. It is very convenient in the center of Kos town, five minutes walking to the waterfront, main square, etc. The studio was very large and nice with a balcony on the road. It was very affordable and the owners were very kind and gave us lots of information on the island including maps, restaurant suggestions, beach suggestions, etc. Highly recommended, I was sad to leave.

Such Restful Nights!

Wonderful Place in the heart of Kos town

We booked a 4-days stay in To Spiti Tis Irinis after a glance at its generally good review score at booking.com. We spent only two nights there, of the four that we booked, and sadly those two nights are just enough to form an opinion about this aparthotel. I wish I had invested a little more time to read some reviews available on the internet, including those non-English ones too, before booking. Anyway, I did not, thus our disappointment was huge.

Since 2008 me and my girlfriend have travelled to different Greek islands many times, always staying in cheap apartments for about 30€ per night, so we don't expect luxuries and often turn a blind eye to some slight flaws or shortcomings. It was the first time when we were really disappointed.

Firstly, I was a little surprised when during the check-in the owner, Mrs Irini asked me to pay in cash the whole price of our stay immediately, while we were still standing at the door of her flat on the ground floor of the aparthotel, with our suitcases still on the street in front of the house. Of course now, after our stay, I do realise the reason behind that haste!

Although the house doesn't look bad from the outside, your impression is soon getting worse while you enter it. The staircase is dark, with narrow, steep stairs. Our "apartment" on the second floor was tight, and my girlfriend soon gashed her knee on the corner of the bed, which certainly wasn't a good start.
The room smelled a bit musty, and all furniture and appliances except the kitchen sink and cooker were dated and worn out. No real table and chairs, only a kind of a tourist table and two folding chairs. The poorly appointed room was cursorily cleaned before our arrival, but we were somehow reluctant to put our things to the drawers and wardrobe. The sheets and towels were fresh, though.

The bathroom was really disgusting, with cracked tiles, and the toilet seat broken. The real problem however was the flush hardly working. Also a horrible noise from it lasted for a good few minutes (!), so forget about using in at night if you don't want to awake your partner, and people in the neighbouring room.
We also found a note saying "don't throw paper to the toilet". However, if according to the note you're going to throw paper to the wastebasket, remember to empty it later by yourself as no one comes to the "apartment" to change the sheets, towels, 
sweep the floor or at least to empty the bin. Anyway, no one came during the two days of our stay.
For the whole time of our short stay there was no hot water (!), and at times the pressure of cold water was very low.

Wi-fi was very slow. It works only in "public areas", but it's hard to say what can be called a "public area" in this aparthotel, unless we're thinking of a gloomy staircase. I was able to catch a weak signal on the balcony though.

When we first came to our room, I was surprised with the amount of long trousers and sweeters (during hot Summer!) drying on the neighbouring balcony. It turned out that all the other rooms on the second floor were occupied by young Arabic-speaking guys who didn't look like being on their holiday, and apparently had stayed in To Spiti Tis Irini for a longer time. They were generally quiet and not disturbing in any way, however the thin plywood door in our room proved little barrier to any noise, and we constantly could hear people going in and out of the rooms in the hallway, talking on their phones, etc. The doors to the other rooms were often widely open, because of the heat I suppose. My point is that if you're looking for a cozy 
place to stay, which has a nice holiday atmosphere to it, you're unlikely to find such in To Spiti Tis Irini. Quite frankly, we felt like staying in a cramped workers' hostel. 

To Spiti Tis Irinis indeed has a good location, a short walk from the Kos harbour and centre. It's nothing unique though, as there's a lot of other hotels and apartments in the area, and they all have the same advantage: they are close to the port and the Old Town.
While walking lovely Kos Old Town and its seafront in the evening, a thought of coming back to the hotel to spend another night there was just upsetting.
So, my advice is: read the reviews here and find a different place to stay in Kos.

We didn't like it at all

Two couples of friends and I arrived to this place about one month ago sure that we would have been living a pleasant stay considering the descriptions we read and excited about the pictures we watched, posted by the owner on booking.com. Obviously the result of what we discovered when we arrived , was shocking, just to use an understatement, and long easy far from what we expected.
As I have being working in the tourism field for years I have the knowledge of how the owners of some Hotels or B&B like to embellish their structures with fake facilities or adjusted photos but Miss Irinis describing its location, To Spiti Tis Irinis crossed the line with the pictures posted on the web or she simply might have been mistaken with another location, or finally she just wanted to avoid posting the real pictures of the rooms she actually sells out.
As we have arrived there she long-winded entertained us by telling us a lot of stories, how she was known by the people in Kos, telling us about her 12 years lived in the States, and filling us up with tourists general brouchures and friends' restaurants and bars business cards as to previously cover, with an eccess of kindness and general introductory informations, the clear scam she had ready for us.
In fact just few minutes before giving each one of us a souvenir of Kos (a gray seashore stone with her business card on it) she escorted us accross a narrow corridor leading to a kitchen and from there towards our "apartment". What we expected to be an apartment fully equipped with Kitchen, 2 bedrooms, enclose bathroom, a living room with an extra bed and an outdoor courtyard was more what I report below:
One open space (maybe the living room) opened on 3 sides:
- the corridor of the out-building where the owner lives (remind that Irinis do not want the door locked because she just want to have free access to the room to check if the lights are turned off).
- a second entrance from the courtyard.
- an open passage with no door leading to the little kitchen.
- one door open on the top from where you access the toilette, which I will briefly decribe later.
This was thought to be one room. Basically whoever lived in this room had no privacy at all as being an open space where anybody else of us should have been passing by either to go in and out of the apartment or just to the toilette. In this room there are 2 beds and one addictional bed under one of the 2 ones mentioned above which cannot be pulled up, basically it is stuck down at the ground level. Of the other 2 beds instead I can only say that the wooden made structure of the one where I was "sleeping" was so damaged that when I was laughing at night (for the ridiculus situation) while in bed the bed was moving back and forward, and my only comfort not get scared to collapse down in the ground was the closet attached to the bottom side of the bed and keeping it a bit stable, even though while moving it was horribly noisy. The bed of my other friend had its mattress so old that its springs were scratched his chest. The third bed as I mentioned before was at the ground level and when it was taking out, it blocked anybody's passage. When the guy sleeping in the ground bed laid down noticed broken pieces of a bed left with no care under my broken bed...
Second bedroom: proceding from our living-bedroom towards the kitchen there is another door leading to a tiny little room (it would be the standard of single room, a 4 by 4) with a French bed and few old furnishings, which was at least decent (except for the humidity which is the main feature of the whole building) but it was worth the title of "luxury room" compared with the rest.
The kitchen had everything turned off (fridge, oven...) at our arrival. The owner, Irinis, justified it by saying that electricity was really expensive there to keep the household electrical appliances turned on, which sounded to me weird if during the high season she was renting that apartment so often if not even daily as she previously said. Then she also quickly told us that it would have been better to avoid using the oven and use a camping electric cooker, full of rust, which was left outside the bedroom/entrance. I would like to specify that for a 4 days trip we had no purposes to stay at home and cook, but if we only wanted we would have been scared to use a gas rusty unused oven nor a rusty electric small one though, so we just plugged the fridge in, waiting an hour to have it cool to put some water and wine inside and we avoided using all the rest.
We immediately noticed the general sense of the indifference either on taking care of the apartment and it's client by several things: the dirty, un painted walls, the broken and exposed plugs, fridge and other device unplugged, cutlery and plates dirty, floor dirty, beds undone...
Now I would like to spend some words about the toilette... It was truly a toilette (I am using this word on purpose) and not a bathroom, I have seen toilettes within railway stations and airports cleaner, better equipped and wider. You wonder why? It was a 2 by 2 (mt) with a toilette annexed to a sink. I could actually rest my arm to the sink while seated. The bathroom had a big window with a thin mirrow from where the owner usually called us and there was no shower. Are you wondering how we could have a shower? Well, the engeneering genious of Irinis just connected a garden hose to the tap withouth even "creating" a holder. So basically we had to hold the hose while taking the shower and at the same time use the soap with the other hand trying to move inside that tiny narrow "hole"and paying attention not to inundate the ground and the rest of the flat because the small drowning hole was not enough large to get the water out as it was not thought to be a shower but born to be a toilette. The result was that I was the only one brave enough to experiment a shower there and my friends preferred taking it on the better equipped beaches where we have been to. Now the funny part, the door of the bathroom, a part from being broken as all the old frames of that house, was cut open on the top... Can you imagine how we felt every single time anyone of us had to go to the toilette (consider we are al 35 years old average and a lady was part of the crew), although we are friends? You can imagine how sounds and smellings could easily linger into our room with the embaracement of each one of us..
Finally the garden... It was nothing more that a dirty space because we had to clean out the leaves from the ground because the owner offhandedly told us she will send somebody to clean it out the next day because she was so busy she hadn't the time to do it herself, a cement ground, a wood of plants on top, no plant nor flowers, some chairs stacked we had to clean ourselves on a corner, all surrounded by a rusty enclosure like it was a bird's cage. We actually noticed a metal plate in the ground with some mice glue on it. And when we made her notice it, grining, she just kick it away remaining attached to it with her sandal and not even laying down to get it and throwing it away and leaving it on a corner. There was no WIFI, because she did not have the right password but as she wanted to teach us how to have our smartphone working, she told us the WIFI was working and we had to wait some time and try and try to insert the password several times until it was working, when we insisted we needed to use the WIFI and told her that one of guys in front of her is an informatics engineer, she just said we could go to one of the may bars in the city where they had wifi working...An easy way to skip the problem which represented us an additional inconvenience.
Long story short we decided to stay for the night because we were tired and we found an hotel the day after.
When we told her the next way we wanted to leave that place because it was not corrisponding what it was written and shown on the site, and when we specified also the problems with the not existing bathroom, she didn't look surprised and she just said: "Well, you have the door of the bathroom, you can only see the head if you stand up and she anxiously pressed us to pay the entire amount of the stay.. To that reaction we just looked at each other smiling and we gave up. Moreover she charged us 2 nights even though we haven't been there the second day, not even having us checked in, not having our documents registered, nor leaving us a receipt obviously.. Basically she earned a big budget under the table to offer us a total scam...

By the way Kos is awesome and if you go to a hotel you will spend the same amount money having all the comforts you need and with no unespected pranks..
