This is our second time at Polemis - we even got the same apartment. Sea view from the balcony and far enough from the road not to hear traffic (not that there is much). Lovely owner who is friendly and goes out of her way to be helpful. She tried to find a phone charger for me, keeps giving us fruti, eggs, vegetables and her husband's home made wine. When I raved about some orange cake she gave us she got her daughter to write out the recipe in English (it could be a challenge finding sfoliata pastry back home). They have just installed wifi but are having some teething troubles - wasn't a problem to take my netbook into reception and connect to their ethernet cable. Agia Anna is a great spot to see the greeks on holiday - plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. If you want to get a bit of space on the lovely sand, you can walk to the beginning of the huge beach that reaches to Plaka (there is a clothing optional stretch at the Agia Anna end). Plenty of places to eat and drink - traditional tavernas to cocktail bars. There are a couple of minimarkets, an ATM, car/bike hire but not much else . . . you can catch the twice an hour bus service to Naxos Town - takes 20 mins, costs €1.40.
