After a day in Aachen, visiting the famous Christmas market and shopping streets we went to our hotel in Simmerath, near the Obersee.4/5. The hotel is situated in a valley with at both sides some houses. At arrival there was nobody in the lobby, after 7 minutes the lady who was cleaning the lobby floor went to look for the owner who came down and did the check in, no sorry for waiting time. 2/5. Our room was on the 2nd floor, view front side hill and  quite road.4/5 The room is a little old fashioned and the bathroom wasn' t really clean.3/5. There was no choice of dinner, vegetable soup, turkey steak and a dessert was offered. 2/5. The breakfast was good but not special.3/5 The beds are good 4/5 and the wifi stable and fast enough. 4/5.

A night at the foot of the North Eifel mountain area.

The hotel (room, furniture)is a bit old-fashioned, but the room was clean, the towels were changed every day. The staff was very polite and kind/friendly.
Breakfast was really good, dinner was rather ok.
Inside swimming pool and sauna's were lovely after a long day outside in the beautiful nature in this area!
We had a lovely time :) Good deal for a good price!

Never go there!!!

We stayed in the Eifelgold Rooding in early December on our first visit to the region. This hotel was a great chance discovery. Its located in a small valley tucked away in the Eifel region. Our sat nav was invaluable in finding it but its located near Simmerath. Our comfortable, spotlessly clean room had lovely views across the valley. The breakfast buffet was very comprehensive and delicious. Capped too with a glass of sekt! Dinner in the evening was a lovely experience, relaxed and unrushed, with a comfortable gap between courses. Everything we had we enjoyed. Staff in the hotel we always available friendly and helpful but never obtrusive. There is a lot to explore in this region, across the seasons. We made trips to Monschau and Eupen among other places.
We certainly intend to return in the near future.

Very good value, great breakfast, delicious dinner. Lovely atmosphere and setting.

Booked this hotel with 6 others for our trip in the region to take in the Nurburgring, We arrived quite late on the Friday night after trip from hell in bad weather but the staff were great when we got there and booked us all in very quickly, we were unlucky and had a room at the rear so the view wasn't great but those in front rooms had a better view, rooms reasonably large if a little tired but would stay again, staff very friendly, good food at night and nice bar !! 
Breakfast a typical continental affair but plenty of it, we found some biker cafes in region which was handy as well, for motorbikes the roads in the region are sublime with some cracking views, Koblenz is within easy reach and is very nice look forward to returning
