We had a great stay at Hotel 66. At first, the rooms are very authentic, spacious and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is located extremely central. I can only recommend this to everyone!

Classic hotel in the heart of Hamburg

A friendly place in neighbourhood of Skt. Pauli, close enough to famous places of interest in Hamburg. Clean, ordinary rooms, with birds singing in the yard. There is also a cosy room with coaches next to the reception, where you can see other guests or discuss your day plan after the breakfast. Receptionist, a young lady from Georgia, was very helpful! I recommend to try this hotel as a good combination of price and quality!

A quiet place close to the crowded ones

I had booked this hotel to be close to an exam venue my wife would be attending over the course of a weekend and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the value for money.

Very reasonably price, the Hotel 66 is located just at the edge of the Sct Pauli/Reperbahn area, but this is not party central and actually reasonably quiet - and of course, the Reperbahn area these days are also a pale shadow of the neon-clad bastion of debauchery it once was.
The hotel staff was friendly, the room nice and clean and the beds of a good supporting quality and not the kind you just sink into. Beware the hot water, as the highest setting will get you something akin to steam :)
Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise - reasonably priced at €7.5 per person with a good spread of cold cuts, eggs&bacon, yoghurt, fruit, bread and even sweets.

Overall, I would say this hotel was a good experience and I would certainly not hesitate to book it again.

My only "aber dabei" would be parking - the description for the hotel says "free parking" and I would add to that "if you can find it" as the parking offered is the general parking around the area where local residents also park and spaces are at a premium.

Excellent budget hotel - central to Hamburg

wow excellent hotel, with a lovely pleasant white modern room.  Yes in the red light & St Pauli area but I enjoyed being within a "neighbourhood" having breakfast at one of the many pavement cafes.  Or a drink outside one of the little bars or restaurants (many with candles each evening).  The buildings were amazing big well built houses you would find in central London, but are covered in graffiti which is such a shame.  felt very safe in the area.  looked like there was live music outside in the summer.  
Short walk from St Pauli metro (10 minutes) and then on the S-bann.  10 minute walk from the nice busy waterfront/harbour.  Loved the huge lake in the city centre.  Used the fantastic cheap 1-5 people daily metro ticket (use after 9 am) and also used it on the ferry down the river.  
The submarine was great fun costing 10E.
Visited 4E town hall in Rathaus and were lucky to get onto an English tour at 11:15am.  Some of the rooms are used on a Tuesday by the government so maybe avoid that day
Missed the fountain in the park (12noon) but park was beautiful.  Used the Radison Blu hotel entrance.  The Beer hall just around the corner near there.
We loved visiting Blankenese on the metro - old fishing village with lots of steps down to the river - very beautiful white houses and gardens there.  Lots of steps, but caught the bus back up to the train station.
Changed 3 times on different metro lines between airport and hotel.  So paid 30E for a half hour taxi journey on our way back.
Hotel reception very helpful.  Free wifi which didn't work for one day.  Very hot water in shower.  Hairdryer.  no safe.  Lift.  no aircon.  The worst pillows I have ever had in a hotel.  Memory foam mattress (quite hard)

Excellent hotel in an interesting neighbourhood

I stayed here last year and it was perfect for my purposes. I stayed on my own there and got a twin room which was a bonus. Clean, tidy and quiet. I was given a room at the back so no noise or drunken stag do's trying to break the sound barrier outside my door. Perfect for the football and getting to the Reeperbahn if inclined. Sat conveniently between all my favourite bars yet not affected by them. A good size shower room ensuite and a fridge in the room to keep the beers cold. Friendly staff and secure.
