36 reviewsThis is a small hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. Located about 20 km south of Munich in the tranquil little town of Gauting, and 10 km north of the "Starnberger See", it is a perfect starting point to visit Munich, only 25mn away by train. The station is about one kilometer away, an easily walkable distance, and trains run at least three times an hour until late at night.It's also a little over one hour to reach the Neuschwanstein castle and the surrounding villages have a serene and quiet atmosphere about them. The Andechs abbey for example is well worth a stop. There is private guest parking available in the front of the hotel and there is little traffic so no nuisances there. We slept like babies and felt heartily welcome. Rooms were equipped with typical Bavarian wooden furniture and were spotlessly, and I mean spotlessly clean. Bathrooms too ( we had two rooms). Breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of teas, fruits, yogurts, cereals, eggs, cheese, delicatessen, various sorts of bread. Best way to start the day! All told everything was perfect!
