I visited the hotel on its opening party in mid-August. To say the least: I was so happy about the experience. Clean rooms and very solid breakfast. Service is on another level, Roman made it such an amazing experience with his welcoming energy. There is a restaurant integrated in the hotel and kitchen chief Kai was surprising us day by day.
Overall, I'm more than happy with my stay. Safe to say that I'll come back when I'm going to visit the Mosel region again!

Great location, excellent service and culinary highlight

We booked a balcony room trough booking.com and I emailed the hotel 2 times before arrival, never got any answer.

We arrived at 5 pm, and without any excuses they told me that there were no balcony rooms more available, so we got the last room available with the worst view possible. The room was old but clean. The bed is far to short if you are over 1.80 m tall. About the wrong room, We didn’t made any trouble about it, but it was nice to get a excuse, or a free bevarage or breakfast for the compensation. Clearly lack of customer service.

We paid breakfast on site for 12,— per person and in my opinion the price is to high for a few breads, a few meats and filtercoffee.

Beautiful sunny day by the Mosel with my wife and it is lunch time and we took the bad decision to stop and eat at this place, and I ordered a pork steak with fries and mushrooms sauce and side salad ... it was one of the worst meal of my life... I am a Cheff and I know what I am talking about.
Where do I begin? 
The Waiter, I asked him 3 easy questions and he didn’t know, how many grams is the cut, time of preparation and if the fish my wife ordered had any bread crust, he couldn’t answer and didn’t ask the kitchen.
I ordered my drink with ice ... as my drink arrived no ice .. he says sorry and bring something like the crust when your freezer is over iced, at this point I am a bit concerned about my food..
And my food arrives at my table, plate diameter 24 cm I guess, fries to small and bad seasoning, the mushrooms where canned and the sauce was from the bag, I can tell because I am a Cheff, the meat was a stone ... it was so dry I couldn’t finish it  it looked like a child portion and it was14 euros it was very bad ...such a beautiful place by the river and so bad lunch experience later on I had dessert somewhere else and I told the cafe owner about my bad experience and some Lokals next to me told me basically the same that it is the worst place to eat ... 
so future visitors with 14 euros get something at the supermarket and seat by the river, it will be 100 better.

Bad 

We stopped off here for one night. The rain sheeted down incessantly as we parked immediately opposite the hotel right on the river bank but the moment we steeped into this excellent, unpretentious hotel/restaurant/bar we felt at ease and comfortable. The bedroom was bright, slightly old fashioned, but none the worse for that - everything was spotlessly clean and functioned well and the room had a geranium smothered balcony (which obviously we didn't use!). We ate an excellent meal, all home cooked, with local wine of course. Service was attentive, quite large tables which weren't too close together. The place was almost full on a Tuesday night so it must get the local vote. There's an outdoor vine-covered terrace for better weather eating and drinking.  Breakfast couldn't have offered a wider choice. It must be really lovely in sunny weather, sitting on the balcony or the terrace as the river flows gently by and the vineyards on the opposite bank promise future pleasure.

A delight

Stayed here for 8 days recently. What a lovely hotel. Well situated on the banks of the Mosel, family run, spotlessly clean. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the river, and it was a pleasure to watch the many barges and river cruise boats passing by. An ample choice at breakfast really sets you up for the day. This hotel offers a card giving free public transport in the local area - at no extra cost. We used this often to get the train to visit places nearby. Free parking outside the hotel, excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Great value for money!

we were on our way to Cochem, the near by city, when we drove through Klotten. it's a great place, on the river and on the hil - mountains around.

lots of Viniards, and really good ambiance.

we stayed for one night, the room was wonderful, they even put gummy bears on the pillows - sweet lillt touch, and it's just across the street from the river, where theres many ducks and swans and you can jog or walk in the morning.

the breakfast was simple European type, no too good, but alright.. the staff was nice, and they also have a restorant that serves local wine, pizza and stuff.

a nice stop for a night, and the area worth hiking and wondering around. very quiet, not too many people are visiting nor do they seem to lve there at the summer time at least, but it's charming overall.

great little place

This hotel is situated on the river valley road heading east from Cochem toward Koblenz.  The view from the balcony of bedrooms facing the river is stunning and well worth the premium paid for these rooms.
There is an excellent new lift to take you to the upper floors so access is no issue.
Eat in the restaurant for excellent quality German food in portions of a generous size.
Cochem is only a few minutes drive away and well worth a visit, if you do not want to drive then cross the road and take the ferry over the river for a walk in the woods.
Great location, relaxing and plenty of opportunity to buy local wines direct from the vintners.
