Our group of 12 cyclists stayed two nights at Hotel au Vieux Logis. It is a very comfortable choice, with many seating areas, including an outdoor courtyard which we did not utilize due to the weather. Our group very much enjoyed the opportunity to sit together for a drink before dinner. Likewise there are corners for two and a quiet conversation. 

The rooms, predictably, are all different, the floors creak and the lighting in the rooms is less than ideal. The shower in our room is due for a new installation, but the grounds are spectacular. 

The hotel is well located and the staff is very accommodating. Breakfast was more than satisfactory, although the restaurant could have been better staffed for our larger group. 

The hotel is well located and rooms are in a variety of buildings. One should inquire as to the options when booking a room, particularly if you are interested in avoiding stairs or a creaking floor above you. 

Older; Yet Very Special

We choose hotel au  Vieux Logis for its central location in St. Emilion.  Getting to the hotel to drop off our bags was a challenge with the narrow streets and no easy access to the hotel.  The rooms are comfortable with large bathrooms.  The lightning is poor in the bathroom to put on makeup.  The staff were very helpful in making dinner reservations.  The short walk from the hotel involved a steep cobblestone path up to the pedestrian avenue.
