We had a lovely oversized room. The breakfast included homemade jams. On the property, is a jacuzzi type pool. The Inn is a nice drive to Mont St Michael and not only a terrific value but a nice experience as well.  Mr Liger, the Inn Keeper, is very pleasant. We were able to communicate well enough in spite of my minuscule French. If you don't speak French, be brave, learn to anticipate and read non-verbal language, be polite. As stated previously, you will remember this wonderful place.

We had booked this B&B on the French version of Hotel.com and thought that it was a hotel.  When we arrived there with my French wife and her parents, we found out that it was a B&B.  My father-in-law was skeptical but that skepticism faded quickly.  Au Bord des Greves is a wonderful establishment.

We booked the place because of its proximity to Mont St Michel and arrived around 7:00 pm.  The owner, M Liger, showed us our rooms in the historic wing of his large house.  We each had two large rooms with large bathrooms...far better than a typical hotel in the region.  My only complaint is not enough plugs for the modern age of smart phones and laptops; we made do with my multiport adapter, but we were in a very old house.

In the morning, we went downstairs to the large common room for breakfast.  M Liger has prepared a beautiful table setting with croissants, baguettes, homemade confiture, fruit, yogurt, orange juice and great coffee. We spoke with him at length during our breakfast and then were joined by a delightful young couple from Paris touring the region.

All in all, a great place!  And an extraordinary value.

If you would like a truly French family experience near the otherwise touristy World Heritage Site (Mont St Michel), this is the b&b for you! The owners/chefs not only offer comfortable and spacious rooms, but they will cook you a real gourmet feast (with excellent paired wines) and dine with you "en famille." This is the concept of "Table d'Hote" that is practically unknown if you are not a French tourist. But you have to request it in advance! It helps if your French is adequate but I was able to get along fine with my flimsy high school French, so don't be afraid! Our teenage son is studying French and benefitted greatly from the conversation with our interesting and knowledgeable hosts.  The rooms were not recently renovated but were clean and had a nostalgic feel. There was no TV in the room but we did not miss it since the wifi was good. We were overjoyed to find a place that had three separate beds in one room, so each of us could sleep comfortably and not have to book two rooms. The wifi was good, the bathroom enormous (with no shower stall but a gigantic whirlpool-style tub with hand shower).  You will long remember this glimpse into the real France!

"At home" at this Gourmet B&B near Mont St Michael

Alot of the problems we had could have probably been solved if we were able to communicate with the owner, however our French was not up to scratch, the owner did not speak English at all however he was very friendly. Private parking was off road round the back of the building and was free which was good, our room was nice and clean but the building itself was very creaky, luckily we were the only people staying so we didn't get disturbed but it was echo-y so I could expect disturbance with other guests there, tried to run a bath around 10pm but the water went cold and kept trying for around an hour and didn't get warm again, the radiator was making noise all night long which kept us awake most of the night and the bed was not the comfiest, again some of the issues could no doubt have been resolved if we could have been able to communicate with the owner, it is advertised with swimming pool and a hot tub, however we were not able to use the pool (very small any way) and the owner only turned the hot tub on when we got there so we could not use until the morning and it wasn't that warm by then either, it was a rubber dingy type of hot tub so you were pretty much sat in the floor also. It is around a 10 minute drive to Mont Saint Michel. The continental breakfast was lovely. Be aware that the instructions on booking.com and our sat nav sent us miles out of the way, you are best searching for Ceaux and it is just on the corner as you turn into there. We wouldn't stay here again.
