We had spent the day travelling by plane and train to go to Lens for the Wales v England for the Euros 2016. We got to our hotel at 11pm but were welcomed warmly by Celine and made to feel at home. The house is a beautiful old traditional French building with super high ceilings and contemporary decor. It was so quiet and peaceful we had a good nights sleep and woke up feeling a lot better

4 of us spent one night here while on a bike tour of France. We were made very welcome and storing the bikes safely inside was not a problem.

The room was large and had great facilities. Perfect for a flying stop in Roubaix with no question that I would return to Le Maison if travelling through Roubaix again.

Wanting to split our trip from The Hague to Normandy, France in two, we decided to visit Lille. I've always preferred B&Bs to hotels and La Maison Barbieux fitted in perfectly with what we were looking for. The B&B - that had opened just two months before - was lovely! A nice, stately house, combining modern art with original, old features. The landlady, Céline, went out of her way to give us a warm welcome. The room was on the small side, but had everything you need for a good night's sleep. Spacious bathroom, comfortable beds and a lovely large window overlooking the street and neighbour's garden. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, with croissants and fresh orange juice. Céline was very interested in the rest of our trip and was able to give us good directions to the city centre - the tram stop is a 5 minutes walk from the B&B, alongside a beautiful park and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the city centre. All in all, an excellent start of our holiday in France.
