Stunning, quiet property. Delicious breakfast with their own fresh cantaloupes; bread, butter and homemade jams (cherries, apricots & lavender, apples, white melons) and sweet focaccia; orange juice; tea. Adorable owners. Comfortable bed (bonus: body pillow!).

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful country. Odile and her mother were very kind and provided us everything we needed, included a candle for a romantic dinner under the moon. Very close to the lavanda field in Valensole, breakfast was very good with homemade pancakes and marmalade. Room in perfect provencale style.

We wanted a central comfortable B&B from which we could make day trips to many of the outstanding natural and cultural attractions of this area between the busy Mediterannean coast and the Alps.   My wife and I spent ten days at La Margotte near Forcalquier and every one was excellent thanks to the understated but ever-present care and comfort offered by our proprietor/hostess Odile.  Our room was spotless, full of flowers and bright, the nights were quiet and restful after a day of walking medieval towns and spectacular scenery and our breakfasts were delightful excursions into the delicious world of provencal cooking.  We were close to everything we wanted to see including Aix-en-Provence, Sisteron, Digne les bains, Manosque and the literary world of Jean Giono.  We also discovered a little gem of a family restaurant called Aux Deux Anges in Forcalquier which serves, among other home-cooked meals, a delectable specialty called "andouillette" made with lamb.   Will we go back again?    Count on it.
