Les Palmistes is my favorite hotel in Cayenne. Where I feel like a traveler of the 1930s. Because of the old-fashion charm and character of this typical creole town house. Built in 1890, historical monument today. In the early morning I’m used to have café crème and croissant on the quaint gallery and look at the passers-by on awakening Avenue du General De Gaulle Open since 1830 the Bar des Palmistes has also a special soul. Ambience is hot around the table. Like in the popular open air restaurant in the back patio. I like to stay in front bedrooms 1 or 2 where I can enjoy a nice view from the balcony over Place des Palmistes. Rooms are done up well, spacious, recently renovated, quiet, soundproofed, tastefully decorated in colonial style, cozy, with comfy beds, nice bathroom, original exotic wooden floor, window shutters. Only one flaw, service is uneven. But all in all I have a crush for Hotel des Palmistes.
