Epi D'Or

To finish off our driving holiday in France a small group of us decided to extend our stay by coming to the Normandy area to visit some of the D-day landing sites and to tour the area in general. The hotel was very pleasant and our bedroom was at the back overlooking their gravelled car park. I must admit that the six of us felt very guilty for not taking advantage of their breakfast and dining facilities, but funds were limited and their dining room always looked deserted - not a good recommendation.. However we did use their bar facilities and garden and the local beers and house wines were good. We were staying here the last week in June/first week in July and the hotel and resort it general was pretty quiet. Billed as a family friendly resort that French families flock to, I would imagine it would be very busy in the school holiday season. Ideal for families as Blonville has lovely long sandy beaches, but there is very little to do in this seaside town and we tended to gravitate to the adjoining resort of Villers where there were far more activities available, plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. The bedroom was fine and the en-suite bathroom adequate, if a bit dated, but we had a comfortable 6 night stay.
