Hostal Moai was the best place I could’ve gone for an end of the year vacation. Definitely recommended to anybody staying at Montañita. Very nice and friendly environment for family and friends and everybody is really easy to talk to making the hostal very comfortable and social which makes a great experience for visitors.

Amazing experience and perfect service 

We travel in family. For sure we where advised that montanita is a party town. Just Don’t go to montanita if you expect to sleep quietly, and do not party. 
However, hostel moai, very close to ocean, room very clean, All the staff was very kind with us thanks to all of you, and specialy Rodrigo our new friend for ever.
We also met Hans an artist painting a murale in our hostel. So each days we assit to is incredible talent. (Hans i drop a stone that we found in the ocean, (we name it tears from ocean) and I leave it under the eyes of the dragon in memory of your brother). 
We spend a memorable weeks in montanita but now we need to rest.

Montanita vibe

I love this welcoming hostel with amazing views just a few steps away from the waves. The crew is fantastic and I'd like to come back again. There is both doorms and fancy privates with balcony. Good social feeling where you'll meet up with nice people and other travellers. Can only say good things about it!

Muy muy bueno!

I had a great time at Hostal Moai! It has a familiar atmosphere, very clean and fresh rooms, great breakfast and the staff is wonderful! It feels like a home away from home :) it's also located very close to the beach, I highly recommend it!

Wonderful hostel, muy buena honda

A friend of mine and I have stay in Moai for all novembwe. The location is perfect just few meters from the beach and the surf break point.

The hostel is very clean and the staff always available to help out with everything!

Breakfast is delicious, specially the pancake with banana!!

PARADISE MOAI

Of note was the EXCELLENT breakfast here - choice of eggs or french toast (highly recommend the french toast!). There's a shared kitchen and filtered water. The people here were very friendly, but be warned: definitely a party crowd. We were sometimes a little bothered by the noise level, but most people stay in Montanita to party so I guess it comes with the territory. Your still far from the REAL noise of the party section of town, which is good. The beach is a stone's throw away. Room was cleaned daily, and everything was spotless. I would recommend this place and would probably stay here again!

Clean rooms and good people in a party town

We loved our stay here. Super nice people. The rooms were super clean and the common areas are so relaxing.  The breakfast was so delicious. I will be staying here the next time I visit Montanita for sure! Highly recommend. 

Amazing vibe and friendliest staff in Montanita!

I stayed 5 days using a reservation with a Expedia for a total of $88, but on the day of check out they were charging $220.  I didn't want to fight with the staff so I agreed to pay $160, about $30 per night, which is kind of high for the facilities offered.  If you need to stay there cross check the price with the Hostal or pay a higher price at a hotel, it's better!

NOT GOOD, The Hostal does not honor Expedia prices

$84 for a dirty room, next day woke up walked down the beach and stayed at ocean vista for $35 clean room on the water great view great staff
