Comfortable hotel on a pedestrianised street in a central location, close to many bars and restaurants and the Casa de la Cultura. The rooms are very comfortable with good air conditioning and a newly renovated bathroom with good shower pressure and hot water. The room had a refridgerator, tv and a radio was also provided.

Along the front of the hotel is a terrace and on the first floor a long balcony with rocking chairs a really nice place to sit in the cool of the evening. The staff were very professional and friendly and the housekeeper will do your laudry and ironing for a small fee. The breakfast provided was ok as were the meals in the restaurant but they were a bit limited.

Overall a very nice place to stay with friendly staff and good service.

Comfortable value for money hotel

Called in for a drink one evening, old colonial style building, bit battered in places but it has a terraced bar over looking the pedestrian high street. You can soak up the sounds and atmosphere of Baracoa and still feel a little bit away from the hawkers. Gaviota run Hotel with tourist desk in foyet.

The hostel is very simpel. Kind people. Rooms are simple and not the cleanest I have encountered in Cuba. It's state owned which reflects the service rendered. It is located in the center of Baracoa which is great. Fantastic view from the veranda on the the busy street life.

This Hostal is well placed for all the sights of Baracoa even though it is definitely not modern.  It is situated on a pedestrianised street with a veranda where you can sit with a drink and watch the world go by.  There are lots of restaurants and bars in the area where you can just sit and there is also a nice square where the locals gather.  Our room, which was at the front of the hotel,  was clean and comfortable although you could not draw the curtains to see out of the windows.  The fridge did not work and the showers and bath were very slow running - in fact if you want a bath do not bother but for a cost of 40 Cuc a night it was good value.  The breakfast was typical Cuban eggs any which way!  The staff were nice and friendly.  The hotel could be noisy at night and the public areas could do with some TLC.  I think this is probably one of the better Hostals in  Baracoa.  If you want chocolate which Baracoa is well known for check-out the people who sell it in the street as we had a real problem finding any once we left the area.

We had a light dinner here because they were out of most of the more appealing things on the menu.   We cannot recommend the fruit salad or the chicken sandwich.  It is centrally located.  Friendly service.
