The River House

My wife and I chose The River House as our honeymoon destination. We had placed a lot of time and consideration into making this decision and were so pleased. While it was the busy time of year, The River House was consistently a respite for us to return to. The days were hot and the nights were calm. There were plenty of fans in the house to move the air as well as an annex unit with air conditioning to retreat to when the heat and humidity was too much. The pool at the property was just cool enough and well maintained. As advised we had rented a 4x4 vehicle. There were some delays with getting the vehicle we had requested which meant we arrived in the dark our first night. Upon arrival we were informed by the caretaker that power had gone out in the entire town. Yet, he had been on the first to call the utility company and had it up and running again within the hour. There was some rain the first few days which made the driving adventurous. After a couple days the caretaker informed us there was a secondary entrance which didn't have as steep of an entrance to the property. This made it much easier. Each morning we were welcomed by a troop of monkeys which pass directly in front of the house. Such a beautiful experience. The sounds of the river and jungle were memorizing and soothed us to sleep each night. It was fulfilling for us to have a kitchen for when we wanted to make our own meals and relax on the deck. After a week at The River House we moved on to Manuel Antonio, La Fortuna and San Jose. Each time we reminisced about how rewarding our experience was in Uvita and all the comforts and benefits of staying at The River House which were no comparable in any other location. We were very pleased with our stay and can confidently recommend this location to others.
