I recently spent 3 nights here on a solo adventure to the Yellow Mountains. The hostel is located in Liyang ancient town, which is an hour away from the tourist area of the Yellow Mountains. The hostel is right in the heart of Liyang town, which comes to life at night - serving an array of street food , drinks and restaurants. The town is about 5 minute walk from the infamous Tunxi ancient town and about 15 minute drive from Huangshan Railway Station. The individual rooms are quite small, however comfortable and well equipped with a separate bathroom, airconditioner/heater and TV as well as free wifi. The staff are also extremely friendly and accommodating and will happily assist you organise your travel plans around Huangshan. For the price you pay, this place will definitely be worth every penny.

Strategic location and exceptionally friendly staff

The beds in our room were very comfortable. We enjoyed the location of the hostel because it is in pure centre of the city, therefore we had the opportunity to see how the local culture is.
Our bathroom was a giant swimming pool after one shower, so the other person had to wait for at least half an hour to enter (the pipes must be very bad). But the most important... the staff really doesn't speak English! We expect from an international hostel at least some basic knowledge, but we couldn't get it at all; nor how to go to yellow mountain, nor how to get to the distance bus station. Our offline maps were life savers.

Nice located hostel

I stayed for 3 days, clean bed, bathroom, shower room and spacious room, nice location where in bars and restaurants around it, Nearer to Brazilian Buffet BBQ Restaurant, easy to find this place. Its near city center location, old street and tourist attraction. Comfortable stay.

Comfortable place, nice location, clean and friendly staffs

Very good location in a nice pedestrian area full of restaurants and cafés, but not as nearly crowded as the Old Street. Just a short walk to the old bridge and Old Street. Very nice staff, helpful, cheerful, and some of them speaking excellent English. Very comfortable bed. Bathroom was really clean. Decent western breakfast.

Carpet in the room really needs a thorough cleaning. Wifi performance varied from slow to okay. Guests are allowed to smoke in their room, and the smell propagates to hallways and sometimes to other rooms. :-(

Good location and great staff

We stayed for 4 nights in the Daylight hostel. The staff is super friendly and helpfull in providing information, insights, booking bus-tickets and tours. We stayed longer because we liked the place a lot :) 
The location is great, in the middle of a very touristic area, with nice evening markets and good coffee/beers. Beers in the hostel-bar are only 10 yen and came (in our case) with the possibility to watch the Eurocup football.
The rooms have good air-conditioning and beds are clean.
