Clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms, helpful and efficient reception, excellent laundry , good value 
But breakfast options very limited for western palates, location miles and miles out of Suzhou proper, and some very questionable (and distinctly Chinese ) shortcomings, eg toenail clippings covering lounge carpet in reception lounge)

Comfy rooms but some issues

I was on a Chinese tour And this hotel was one of the ones we stayed at.  The carpets had stains, all the furniture had stains and the wall paper on the wall was peeling and the room smelled of mold.  I am disgusted by this place.  The hotel lobby and outside looks decent but they don’t seem to update the rooms.  I will never go on these chines tours again nor will I stay in this hotel again.  The furniture is all beat up and worn out.

Disgusting hotel

On arrival at the Tianping Hotel I was not sure what to expect.
But from the greeting at the main door to the reception desk then the room all was good.
My stay was enjoyable and I will return.
The surrounding area is unique in as much as the pleasant wide streets and the ease to get from the hotel to both local and distant shops.

Tianping Hotel Mudu Town - Just what I needed.

Very bad standarts in this hotel are applied. Carpets are old and dirty everywhere, torn blinds in the room, dirty windows everywhere, table cloths in hotel's restaurants are stained and dirty, they just don't clean it! It was disgusting to stay there!

Needs refurbishment badly

I stayed at Tian Ping for 4 days while my husband worked nearby. It's hard to understand how they can bill themselves as an international hotel when so much is still practised at a low standard. Some things that stood out for us:
- despite a request for a non smoking room we were given a smoking room, replete with ashtrays everywhere. Luckily the room did not stink as the hallways did.
- they did not vacuum once in the 4 days, and probably not at all for some tme - a peanut by the bed when we arrived stayed there for the duration, and the pistachio shell I dropped and deliberately left on the floor also stayed there
- the room was nicely furnished but the bathroom is ATROCIOUS - badly stained toilet, low water pressure, stained grout in bathtub surround
- the lobby and other public areas practice energy conservation to the extreme - total darkness is not safe; we cannot stay in the restaurant without a coat and even then we got cold
- the floor and tablecloths in the breakfast hall were never cleaned - I looked for the same empty red cigarette pack on the floor each day and each day it was there, with all the food crumbs around it
- one evening we tried to eat at the chinese restaurant but walked away when they turned on the lights only as we arrived!!! Another room was open but they would not seat the 2 of us there.
It's not all bad - at least we knew that there is no rat or cockroach infestation because the foods left on the floor in our room and in the breakfast hall (not a restaurant) stayed there for four days! The bedding was very nice, and the location is within easy walking distance to centre of Mudu and Old Town Mudu, reception staff discouraged me from using their business centre, recommending a cheaper and faster connection at an internet cafe across the street...... but all in all, a very strange place
