Nice, updated room. It was clean. Clean bathroom. Microwave, good size fridge, cable tv. Wifi.  All good.

I have been visiting Parry Sound for years and have just landed on this quaint hotel. If you just need a clean place to lay your head this hotel fits the bill. Great downtown location and half the price of the fancy upscale hotels. It’s a little outdated, but Tony and his staff made sure that we got everything as advertised, including Wi-Fi, TV, and microwave. Maid service and fresh towels and toiletries were on a par with any other hotel. We will be back in Parry Sound next winter and the midtown will definitely be our first choice to stay.

Our new go to hotel.

I chose this motel because it looked like the nearest to the town centre and harbour because we wanted to be in walking distance. I hadn't realised Parry Sound would be quite so hilly.
As others have said, this place needs a re-fit. However, is was quiet and we slept well even at street level. A plus for us was to have our car just outside our own door. The reception clerk was friendly and thoughtfully provided us with connecting rooms.
I was surprised to find no coffee-maker in the room but he provided one on request.
It was not until later that we discovered that there were no sink plugs. It is many years since I had to travel with one of those in my case!

Midtown means mid-town

This is a very old downtown hotel. Check in was simple and the owner was quite courteous. There are only 2 floors so no elevator. We were on the 2nd floor. No pictures on the walls (strange), and a VERY VERY hard bed. We slept horribly. I think it was only a box spring and no mattress, an old outdated sofa as well and the bathroom was, well,.. falling apart. Tiles missing and we could just imagine the mold forming behind the walls, however, you didn't see any of that. A/C worked thankfully, but overall we thought it was exactly what you could expect for $99/night. It was as clean as could be expected for the cost. No continental breakfast. Overall, quiet and "ok"

Not Bad For The Cost

Upon first entering the lobby the smell of weed was quite prevalent.  Setting felt like the 50's.  This is an older hotel with two floors.  Initially my gut reaction was to flee but the fellow at the front desk was friendly.
Rooms are quite dated.  As mentioned 50's with the furniture in poor shape.  Beds are firm enough, wifi worked great along with the television.  Mini refrigerator and microwave also present.  Room is relatively clean.   A/C is a portable unit. 
The desk clerk was quite helpful in pointing out restaurants.   Location is excellent within walking distance of water and many amenities.
As mentioned is quite dated and initial impressions are that it is a dump but actually isn't as long as your not fussy.

Worth considering if your not fussy

Dated but clean and quiet.
Room had a fridge and a microwave.
Bed was comfortable, wifi worked well, no complaints. I did not use the TV.
I rolled in super late at night and person staffing the counter was kind enough to knock off a few buck when I asked if they accept CAA.

**Railway tracks run behind the place. I found it quiet, however I'm a big fan of the sound of trains.

Convenient and affordable

Rooms are spacious and comfortable ! Staff is very accommodating and friendly! Rates are excellent and the hotel is downtown close to all the stores and restaurants. All within walking distance . There are many sites and events a must place to visit year round .
