Firstly I can't speak highly enough of the staff here, both the owner and his employees are really lovely. 

The hotel itself though left a bit to be desired. You can see when I first opened it must have looked great, but little attention has been paid to general maintenance and upkeep. Just a lick of paint here and there would go a long way. 

I was excited to have booked the two rooms with balconies. Although the balconies existed, they wee poorly maintained and not somewhere you would want to spend time. In the pictures they look like tranquil havens. The small balcony though in my parents room was good and we did spend time sitting there a bit.

The rooms were clean and well designed. The complimentary shampoos and lotions etc were half used though, not new. For me I think it's better to rather not offer any than half used items.

But you really can't beat the location, right in the heart of it all. The noise at night didn't bother us, we quite liked it.

I would go back here and would recommend it to other travelers, I just urge Martin and his team to do some basic maintenance to get the hotel back to where it can be! 

Not what we were expecting 

This is by no means a "4 star luxury boutique hotel" as claimed in their website. It is 3 rooms above a bar in a very very loud location. The tranquil looking terraces are also misleading. I booked the suite with terrace as a treat as I was spending new years eve in Siem Reap, but it was very disappointing. I had a prepaid rate so there was no possibility to change hotels after arrival.
As other reviewers expressed the rooms are tired, even though once they were well designed. Furthermore they are dirty. Full of ants, spiders and spiderwebs. I didn't have soap in my room for the whole 3 days I stayed there, even though requested several times.
And for breakfast; this is what you get: you walk down the bar and find a poor barmen who worked the previous night, sleeping on a bank. This same guy is responsible for preparing the breakfast. When you wake him up he goes to a nearby bakery to buy croissants.
The staff was friendly, yes, but that doesn't help that this is a totally disappointing cheat.

Terrible and disappointing

very disappointed as the pictures depicted on the website- is sorry to say- not a true reflection on what the place looked like.

noisy (but this is fine as we had been warned by the owner) and also pretty much a gay friendly hotel - which was unfortunately not highlighted by the owner during our correspondence beforehand.

breakfast was ok but the room was never cleaned, nor was the dirty dishes for breakfast picked up for 3 days.

disappointed and to be avoided

We found ourselves in Siem Reap for the Khmer New Year celebration which lasts for three days and includes being sprayed by water guns and dusted with baby powder along with lots of dancing...Hotel Be was definitely in the middle of the action.

Martin, the owner, was very welcoming, attentive, and accommodating to all of our needs. All of the staff were great, very friendly.
The Bamboo room was a very nice size with an unexpected lounge area and decorated creatively. The sheets were so soft, if only they would have fit in my backpack...and most importantly, great A/C and WiFi.
Breakfasts were large, the pancakes were delicious (wish I had the recipe). Drinks at the Linga bar were good too.

A haven from the hot, party fueled streets of Siem Reap

The room was tired and not clean. The balcony was dirty with an unclean ash tray. The plants (2) on the balcony were diseased and probably summed up the hotel.

The location is right beside pub street with access through a bar/restaurant. If that is what you want the great but be prepared for loud music with inadequate service.

The host is fine and welcoming and is obviously trying to establish a boutique image which unfortunately fails being closer to a tired pub.

Definitely needs TLC
