This place is a little slice of heaven.
Koh Rong Sanloem is genuine paradise. Only accessible by ferry from Sihanoukville - not developed enough yet to have its own airport, thankfully.

Paradise Villas is literally the closest property to the jetty after you come off the ferry, which is kind of handy, as dragging a suitcase across sand is hard work.

The main reception area/bar/restaurant is a big, old-school, charming wooden construction with solid wood tables and wooden seats all around, but covered with big comfy cushions.

In front of that is the beach, which, when I went, was deserted. I had the entire beach to myself, bar the odd person walking past.
And the water is completely still (not a single wave), crystal clear, and almost the temperature of a bath.

The bungalows themselves are all to the right of a path that winds through a tropical garden... and at night that garden comes to life, with all sorts of frogs and lizards and insects chatting away to one another.

The bungalows are kind of charming wooden constructions, with tin roofs and a wooden veranda at the front.
There is no air con, only fans, so they can get a little hot unless those fans are right on you.
Also, I couldn't get any hot water out of my shower - only cold. But it's so humid, you don't mind.

As it's remote, the power does sometimes go off, so be warned.

Also, Paradise Villas is isolated from the rest of Saracen Bay, so be prepared to stay on/around the property.
If you wander down the beach at night to try to get to other places e.g the couple of bars and restaurants that are there, you will likely fall into one of the deep (as in, waist deep) inlets that line the beach... and give up.

Paradise by name and nature...

Really barefoot paradise. Only option here is to totally relax and chill. Attentive staff. Good food. 
Staff: helpful. Always present. Always eager to help with minor things. Downs: But if not something they get commissioned then won’t help phone. 
Bungalows: Lovely, totally chill mode. Spacey. Open air showers with plants. Aircon on 5pm till next morning 7am. OK. Downs: termites in our bungalow hacking away all night. Very slow water in shower just a trickle so difficult when lots of hair. But overall great. 
Take care of which pier you arrive at. 
Go 20 min up beach for amazing bbq seafood

Sand between your feet and chill

This is an amazing place run by a wonderful and kind Cambodian woman —Somnang. It is comfortable and quiet and the staff, many of whom are family, do a great job of making you comfortable! We stayed for two nights and wish we could have stayed much longer!!

Still the best place on the island!
Best stuff also and super service! Don't hesitate. 
The food is as great as it was years ago the same comfort and chilling! 
And the owner is the best !

Back to paradise 

Not at my first visit here and it seems the charm is the same. The rooms are ok only a few meters from the best beach on the island.
Plenty options for food and drinks at reasonable prices on a super cosy terrace with sea view. I suggest booking an A/C room.

Great as always 

Expensive beach bungalows. Plastic pollution from the main land is a major pelroblem and there are no sewage treatment plants so everything is being dumped behind the beach  hotels or into the water. The dirtiest tropical beach I have stayed on. Go to Koh Rong instead. 

Dirty beach spoils stay.

Loved our stay! The food was delicious! Great to get water fill ups. All great value for money. Villa was basic and the AC worked fine and it suited us just right. I did have a very old towel with holes in it on arrival but when i asked for a new one they soon brought me one quickly. I would really love to stay again!

Loved it!

1. CHEK IN. You will probably need a whole eternity for someone to help you. Anyway you will put your name and data by yourself. They are simply too much busy, there is no a person responsible for the reception. 
 2. FIRST LOOK. The first thing I noticed was that our bungalow was about 600 meters away from the reception. Thought they saw wounds on my husband’s leg and how painful it was to walk, they have decided to send us so far. By the way, many of the bungalows much closer were empty.
 3. THE ROOM. When I booked the hotel I chose a room with one twin bed and WiFi. We had some plans for a celebration and needed enough space in the room that was shown on pictures and descriptions of their Booking.com profile. And of course I need WiFi because I was waiting for calls from my relatives and friends, the normal mobile data didn’t work including the whole connection. I booked a room with one twin bed and WiFi. When we opened the door of our bungalow I saw two beds and a tiny space between them to get to the bathroom. I asked them to change the bungalow because this was not what I booked and the answer was “we don’t have other rooms, all the rooms are with two beds”. After that the guy disappeared. In a minute we noticed that we don’t have connection on the phone and don’t have WiFi. 
 4. THE STUFF. After a few minutes of shock I Immediately went back to the reception to cancel our stay and refund my money back. The girl with a happy face said that they can’t do anything and my money can’t be returned. What was also surprising is that none of the stuff wore a mask, they even didn’t have it.
 5. CONDITIONS. Couple more words about the room. In the corners between walls and the roof were some space that you can easily meet different unexpected roommates such as slimes, lizards, spiders or even snakes. The anti mosquito nets on the bed were also full of holes and absolutely useless. By the way the roof had a huge hole and it was very funny to stay there during the rain at night. 
I DON’T RECOMMEND YOU TO STAY IN THIS TERRIBLE PLACE.

My birthday holiday turned into a torture

Great island, Greta location. Great set up, The owner Rudi is great. But his german sri lankan manager girl is a horrid nightmare, They call her Eva Braun on the island, The beach in front of the island is the best on the island, The restaurant is great and so is the food and most of the staff, All spoilt by the nasty attitude of that girl who is in love with herself. No customer service skills. Walks around pouting. Fool

We came to Paradise for a 2-week stay and ended up staying even longer due to a flight cancelation. During this time the staff and Paradise Koh Rong Samloem took amazing care of myself and my family. The food is wonderful and affordable, the staff is friendly and the accommodations were clean and cozy. During our time we got to snorkel, scuba dive, kayak, paddleboard and take a guided hike of the island. There are plenty of activities and if you are just looking to relax the service provided by the staff of Paradise is excellent. We experienced their garden and VIP rooms and loved both of them with the VIP room having air conditioning and a rainfall style sky shower. I will absolutely be returning to stay here again.
