Ouro Preto

The hotel is clean, with large and comfortable rooms. It's located at about 15 min walking distance from the main square, at the top of the next hill, which provides you with amazing views of Ouro Preto. The breakfast and afternoon tea are nothing special, but certainly decent.

Nice pousada, a short walk from the centre

We stayed in this pousada because we could not find a place closer to the center of town. The pousada itself is nice and clean with friendly staff and good breakfast. The only disadvantage is that it is a little far from the center of town (about a 20-minute walk). We only walked there once due to the very steep streets of Ouro Preto. Using the car is not a viable alternative, either due to restricted parking in the center and because driving in Ouro Preto is not for frail nerves. The cobblestone streets, some of which are incredibly steep may scare even the experienced driver, especially during the wet season.

Nice and clean pousada but a little bit far from the center of town

We stayed here with another couple and their 2 small children.  Both of our rooms were large and clean.  The beds and pillows were comfortable, although not luxurious. The pousada was a little difficult to find at first and not within walking distance to the main sites.  It's situated on a hill and has fantastic views of the city center.  The breakfast consisted of breads, cakes, cookies, fruit, juice, eggs, and ham.  the staff was very cordial.

I spent 2 days in Ouro Preto in this bed&breakfast and I left with a great impression about the way we were treated.
I was not expecting anything special, but it was -- the room was beautiful, clean and the food tasty and consistent.
The bed&breakfast is located in a natural setting, close to downtown and has a beautiful view over the city ...
Hostel staff was very helpful and the breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious with coffee, sweets, natural juices.
To summarize: I loved it

Great service and nice people

This small poussada ,perched high on a hilltop is well worth the $8 taxi ride from the main square.   The rooms are beautifully appointed, bathrooms sparkle and have lots of hot water.
The breakfast and afternoon tea is delicious...from the fresh squeezed juices to the exotic fruit filled pastries.
The owner Antoninon is gracious and witty.
A must,if you enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of the city center and like to spend the night in a charming bed and breakfast/inn.
