There are quite a few pros and cons regarding this hotel.  The major pro is it's location.  It is located on the Praia Tabatinga section of Caraguatatuba.  It's a private beach, so it's not as busy as some of the other beaches in the area.  The hotel staff is also very friendly and attentive. They offer a decent food selection for the breakfast buffet.  They also have a game room with ping pong and pool tables, as well as a play room for kids.

Unfortunately, there's a lot more cons to this property, mostly pertaining to the room itself.  I knew I was in for an adventure when I checked in and I was handed a skeleton key!!  The key was required to lock the door from both sides!  As soon as I walked into the room I could hear people talking in the bathroom.  It seems that the vent in the bathroom
was connected to the room next door.  The room did not have any hot running water and didn't even have a knob on the hot water faucet in the shower.  The toilet was also not properly bolted to the floor, so it would rock when you sit on it, and had to be held down when flushing it.  The air-conditioning only had two settings, off or full blast cold.  Wi-fi is available, but only in the lobby/dining room area, not in the rooms, and unlike your usual hotel, nobody came to clean/service my room for my entire 4 night stay.

For a little over US $100 per night, you can definitely find a better place to stay in Caraguatatuba.  If you're a foreigner, you'll be hard pressed to find someone that speaks English, but as the Caraguatatuba/Ubatuba area is mostly a place only locals go, it's to be expected.

The private beach is definitely the main attraction to this property and is the only thing that garnered this review 2 stars instead of one.  This place is in need of some serious renovations!!!
